Wiring Harness Distribution

Hi everyone! Long time no see. Yesterday, almost out of the blue and very conveniently while I was supposed to record, my bass started acting funny. It would stop sounding just like that. Almost like when the jack/cable malfunction and cut your signal, except there was no typical scratchy sound (hop...

Re: what do you think about 4654 project?

This idea looks amazing, I really like the 4003 style headstock with the 650 pickguard. I agree a good idea would be for it to be a completely different thing to the 4003's configuration. Definitely hi-gains but maybe at a different position? Maybe a 32 scale with 24 frets so that it's not a 30 but ...

Re: Pickguard to 4000

Good then, if you are sure it's just that the frets are worn then go for it! Try getting your current frets levelled down. That's what I would definitely do. Then, if that doesn't help, try refretting. But like I said, not my first choice... I've seen some basses refretted that looked like ****, spe...

Re: Reasonable and fair for rare 4003's? (all black bass)

Thanks jc-sz! I think I got it to work. The pictures look a bit softer, but not too bad for reducing digital information. You're Welcome! I know it's not the most effective way to keep the good quality on (hence my recomendation to not use the original images and just make copies) but it's fast and...

Re: Pickguard to 4000

Sorry to hear about the crack. Is it like the neck came apart or just a crack in the wood? If just a crack and if it has stayed solid all these years, then you probably have nothing to worry about. If I were you I would rather have the crack visible though, in case it stops being stable. So they guy...

Re: Ric-o-sound: pickups bleeding into other amp?

There's also another solution to it. I for one, use ROS, the three combinations, but because of they way I use my FX, and because I sometimes change while I'm playing and find the switch uncomfortable, I switch with a 2 dptd footswitch. I go from the bass with a Y cable that splits just before my fx...

Re: Pickguard to 4000

Hi Daniel! Sorry I didn't see your reply before. Yes, I do remeber, but it won't be of much help though: it said it came out of the factory like that, which is obviously not true. The only reason why I would think somebody would do a thing like that is: back finished was scratched, wanted to cover u...

Re: Reasonable and fair for rare 4003's? (all black bass)

Hey there, I just saw your ebay posting! Beautiful bass! I love BT/BH, and I think all blacks look awesome too! Anyways, just wanted to give you a heads up on an easy and quick trick to downsizing pics: make a copy of the file (so you don't alter the original's quality). Right click on file -> "...

Re: Pickguard to 4000

Hi! Nice BT Mapleglo, I love that combination. Just a question, did you buy this one around 2009? I remember seeing that black painted back on the bay at the time I bought my 4003. Just curious  Again, nice bass! I completely understand what you mean by being careful with it at some places....

Re: Deluxe bezel with an integrated THUMB REST

Thanks both Ilan and Jason. I guess I'll go with the Deluxe. I gotta sort a couple of things out and then I'll buy new strings and the bezel when I get time to do it.

Thanks again!!

Cheers

Re: Deluxe bezel with an integrated THUMB REST

The thumb rest is exactly where a low B string would be, same height as the E string and spaced like a low B. This is why it feels so natural if you are used to anchoring on the lowest string. So you think that if I'm used to anchoring on the pickup the one with the cove would be a better fit? Is i...

Re: Deluxe bezel with an integrated THUMB REST

Thanks Richard and Jason for your input! I think I'll take the deluxe model. I guess I'll be buying it in a couple of days. I have yet to buy strings since I'm going to do everything at the same time, and also try to bring that toaster up a little bit.

Cheers!!

Re: Deluxe bezel with an integrated THUMB REST

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I last posted. Last night I was playing at home and I decided to get rid of the pup cover, also I was thinking of adding a thumb rest since I never really got used to the point of being comfortable with resting my thumb on the pickguard, not deep enough. So today...

Re: Suggestions on changing my bass

Thanks again jps and John! Last nigth I went to check the bass out... I am almost convinced I'm better off with my current bass, and this is why: Pros: Great structural condition (no fretboard separation) Neck was very straight (a little adjustment would finish making it arrow straight) Neck was rea...
