nah. on tour, i don't wear shirts while playing because i'd sweat all over them, and we only do laundry once every two weeks. this allows me to wear the same, relatively clean shirt 5-6 days at a time, and i can pack lighter. it's pretty economical!

you'll need a line-in on your soundcard (most stock cards at the very least have an 1/8th inch "mic" input. of course they sound like hangovers feel) or a s/pdif digital input. if you don't have the line input, or you'd like to try it with the s/pdif, soundcards come in pci cards or outboa...

If you're not looking too much into crazy effects, the sansamp guitar preamps are great, and more "true to life" than any of the line 6 stuff, in my opinion.

I track bass direct into one of a handful of mic preamps that have an instrument input. Some of my favorites here are the Groove Tubes ViPRE (or it's little brothe...

I'm well aware of Tony's presence, just figured two heads and two opinions can be better than one in a situation like this. Happy to help either way.

I record music for a living. Ask me questions!

Hey there. Though I don't think anyone on THIS forum knows, I'm actually a professional recording engineer working out of Queens/Manhattan. I frequent some other boards and really enjoy helping out folks who are confused/lost/in need of information or recommendations. So I figured I'd give it a shot...
