By Woodstock and Altamont in '69 was when the black electrical tape was applied.I got to see...

Not to answer for Dale Or Paul; but what I always do if I'm steel wooling frets, is First, Cover the area around the PUs w/ masking tape[you gotta get creative on different mfr guitars; Strats are easiest this way..], after you are done, whisk brush and blow off the fine wool particles.A little more...

Could you not just wire in a coil that is reverse wound , with no magnets and wire that into the circuit in series ? Wouldn't that stop the 60 cycle hum ?

Gene, If you need the exact ones as they used on old Kustom amps, and can't find "non-script ones, " get scripted ones from Rick; they are The Same as the ones Kustom used, but with added script. You can remove the script easily with a rag and judicious use of acetone.

They could be original, with the lettering simply all worn off, or perhaps the lettering was starting to wear, and the owner took the rest of the print off[acetone on a cotton wad, or rag will do it easily, BTW..] The old Kustom amp co. used to use these knobs as well, with No lettering on them.

Very recently, I'd been checking around to see who has a C63 12 in stock, and Mike Parks had a new Jetglo in stock[since has sold, sigh].He sent me some really good pix of it, and one shot in particular caught my eye; a straight on shot of the headstock. This guitar's headstock did Not have that, for...
