Selmer repro bowtie availability?
Hi all, A LONG time ago (over 20 years :!:), I remember a chap called Wes Cooksey was selling repro Selmer bowtie bridges. I think he went by the handle "jetglow". I guess they were different than the U.S. Sorkin bowtie bridges because they were 7% smaller. Not sure if that was the only di...

Re: F-holes on new Ricks?
The 1993+ has only ever had an F-hole. Because it is a modern new model inspired by the Rose Morris 1993. Now that I think about it, that makes total sense... it's a 1993  :!: ... where's the "slaps forehead" emoji? That 350 must have been a special run with the 2 o'clock sou...

F-holes on new Ricks?
Hi there, I've been seeing a few auctions on eBay by the same seller with Ricks having F-holes like the RM models. Clearly Rick is known in recent history for having made RM-type guitars with F-holes. But was unaware the 350V63 came with an f-hole, especially in the 2 o'clock version? https://www.eb...

Re: RI horseshoe vs. Classic Amplification bridge pickup
Don't know, I assumed it was up and running being that it's been some time since he's supposedly moved (late last year when I was wanting to order one and had to wait)?

Re: RI horseshoe vs. Classic Amplification bridge pickup
Cool. Thanks. What about the difference in sound between Classic Amplification's button top vs. flat top? Classic Amplification makes excellent reproductions of 70's RIC hi gains, and the lead wire attachment is so much sturdier. They will build them to original 70's specs as well (8k Ohms) on an al...

Re: RI horseshoe vs. Classic Amplification bridge pickup
Thanks but no toaster in the bridge position for me. It's either a RI horsie or the CA. Any thoughts on either of these?

RI horseshoe vs. Classic Amplification bridge pickup
Hi all, I have a 2015 4003S I want to replace the bridge pickup on. I already swapped out the HG in the neck for a toaster. I am torn between replacing the bridge p-up with either a RI horseshoe or the Classic Amplification Flat Top. Would someone be able to describe in general terms of sound why so...

Re: 2015 4003S intonation challenge/issue?
Cassius,
The process of intonation I am aware of... thank you.
The problem I am having is the G string saddle is seemingly not able to intonate the string in either position.
Anyone else have this problem with the Rick 4001/4003 bridge/saddles?
Cheers,
Chris

2015 4003S intonation challenge/issue?
Hi all, Bought a 4003S new in summer 2015. See other recent thread "2015 4003S relief" for a very little bit of history. Setting the intonation on Rick basses can be a pain, it seems. I can't get to the intonation screws on the bridge without stripping the phillips head? That means the bri...

2015 4003S relief
Hi all, Bought a 4003S new in summer 2015. Seemingly nice bass. Kinda messed around playing it a little over the last 2 years. Got into it again recently and wanted to do a couple of small tweaks... It started out as a change out of the neck high gain for a toaster. At that point, I figured I should...

Re: Toaster cover on a high gain help!
I've heard that the four corner screws on the pickup cover could be removed to gain some height and that the height screws will still hold the pickup together. Or one could wrap some fine wire through the holes to hold it all together.
