Re: 4005 Gig bag or case

...the RM3261 I had (and sold to Getty) had a custom-made case, which may have been by Ameritage, but I don't know for sure. It was a really good fit for it. Is it in the Malibu museum, or the one near the top of the 405 pass? As in, "... Drove my Chevy to the Getty ..."???? :) ...

Re: Rickenbacker.com has been offline recently

It's probably priorities ... the RIC website, except for the Boutique section and the occasional updating of the price list, models, and colors, , has typically been just a static source of information rather than a dynamic, ever-changing website (not a criticism, just an observation). 8)

Re: Rick AzureGlo = Finish colour shift under lights?

I recently took some more pictures of my 1982 4080 JG and one of the flash shots showed how the clear coat had yellowed, giving a greenish tint to it: DSCN3872_crpd.JPG Regular daylight (outdoor) pics don't show that, so it was a combination of light source and angle that brought it out. I think tha...

Boygenius using a 370/12 JG on SNL 11/11/2023

When I watched Saturday Night Live last night, I was pleasantly surprised to see (and hear) a Rickenbacker 370/12 Jetglo in action.

Re: '83 4003 Truss Rod Spacer

I recommend posting this also in the section, '"Vibrola" Rickenbacker Technical Forum: By Paul Wilczynski', as the luthiers will spot it there and maybe help. FWIW from what I remember on previous such repairs, folks have bought bar stock and fashioned their own from it. I have not done th...

It looks like the main page now goes into an infinite loop with nothing displayed.

Re: Rickenbacker.com has been offline recently

Still there. Over a week, now. Maybe the main site has been shut down as someone elsewhere noted that only the boutique can be accessed. https://boutique.rickenbacker.com Interesting. I'm no network admin, and I don't know if their server is using Linux, but I've seen enough error messages on my Li...

Re: 4001S or modded 4000?

My former 1975 4001S WHT WT was original from the factory (bought from original owner), and the routing is different from the one for sale on Reverb by a long shot. P8040414.JPG P8040419.JPG Note how the factory pickup rout is "stepped" My conclusion is that the one on Reverb is a 4000 tha...

Similar interior color (yellow) to that of the case my former 430 came with (bought used on eBay many years ago ... and sold to a former Forum member, RIP): P5110157.JPG And to the case for the Vox Cougar I had (which was its original case): PA030051.JPG I also had a 610 Ruby that came with a black-...

Re: Question about this combo 450(?) my grandfather bought

Not intending to douse any enthusiasm, but I recommend looking at the date codes on the potentiometers to confirm that they date to that era and are not modern ones. I have seen a number of "tribute" instruments, made by expert luthiers, that look like the real deal, and it would be good t...
