Stone grove guitars in la grange. Paul has tweaked my necks and swapped out the high gains for toasters in my 330/12 for a couple of bucks. Bought an amazing 360 from him as well.

My new 360

My local guitar store had this 360 hanging for a while. They know I'm a huge Rick fan so they called me as soon as it came in. It's a 2001 modded by Mark Arnquist who even took the time to strip the finish off the fretboard so it feels like a Les Paul. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p68/Jackyrho...

Re: Rolling Stone declares Greatest Beatles Songs

Shocked "I am the Walrus" didn't make the top 10.

Re: 6 string... or 12 string RIC

I LOVE my 330/12 and I love it more with the toasters I put in.

But there's a 360 6 string at my local shop that's been calling to me for MONTHS. Half of me wants someone else to buy it and the other half wants to buy it NOW!

Re: What To Cover?

My old band did "american girl" and "stop draggin my heart around" whenever our girl singer could sit in.

The band I just joined heavier than the last so I'm suggesting "honey bee".

Re: Echo -- Was it all that bad?

There are Tom Petty albums I like less than "Echo". I'm not a big fan of "Into the Great Wide Open" for example. Tom calls it his divorce album but he wasn't ready to dig deep enough with his writing so it's stuck in the middle. But any album with "Room at the Top" and ...

Re: FINALLY got a Ric!

The Les Paul pickups are Seymour Duncan P Rails and I absolutely love them! I have push/ pulls in the tone knobs so the guitar can go from series to parallel, P 90 and single coil. The LP is my number one and even thoough we're playing a lot of cover gigs now, it'sthe only guitar I need on stage. Of...

Re: FINALLY got a Ric!

Thanks, everybody! And ric, the Vox is a recent purchase. It was the tipping point to getting a Rickenbacker. I've had it a week now and I haven't touched any other guitar. The action is a little high for my tastes but I'll lower it when I change the strings. Speaking of which, I wish someone had to...

FINALLY got a Ric!

After twenty years of wanting (and watching retail prices climb) I finally got a 1999 330/12 from Craigslist. I had to drive out to Jersey to get it but it was worth it. The guy was fantastic. he bought it new when he was in a Beatles cover band but hadn't touched it in a few years. The way he treat...

Re: Playing My 12-String As A Rhythm Guitar

Pete is one of the few guitarists who doesn't show off his collection. Probably because he's smashed them. :D Don't forget since the hearing loss there are a lot of electrics he can't play. In 1989 he only played an acoustic live. His strats have been modded with an acoustic pickup so the lower fre...

Re: Playing My 12-String As A Rhythm Guitar

Tom Petty always plays his Ric 12 as rhythm. Listen to "Saving Grace". Those are comped power chords on a Ric 12.

I'm still saving for a Ric but I have a Martin 12. It's very hard to play lead lines on it but strum chords and it's full, rich and powerful.
