Re: Ryder ES16 evaluation
I owned a 60' version of this guitar and, to this day, I continue to kick myself for selling it. Of all the 3/4 sized guitars I've owned, it was the best sounding and overall feel, great neck too. Mine was a thicker version, no tapered edge.
Good luck!
Good luck!

Case Handle Recs?
Good morning,
Curious if anyone has any recommendations on a replacement (rigid) handle for older Ric cases? I'm having a hard time trying to locate one to fit with the horizontal mounts.
Thank you,
Chris

Re: 1964 Rickenbacker
Chris,
Please keep the forum in the loop on what you decide. It's a wonderful guitar, would be great to keep it in the community.

Dave and Christian are top notch. I've taken all my vintage Ric (and others) to this shop. So glad to see this post!

Re: Thinking about a Casino
For what it's worth, a vintage 330 might be another option to check out and can be had a much better price vs the casino.

Re: Kala UBass
Ted,
I have a custom fretless model built by Owen Holt (he designed the "Ubass" for Kala) and really enjoy the sound. The strings are going on 3-years and have pleanty of life. The short scale is different but is easy to adapt.
Enjoy it!

Re: 3/4 scale Ryder
Nice acquistion. I've owned my ES-16 (Electro version) for years, yet decided to sell just recently. Perhaps the registry can assist you on pricing.

Re: Kauffman Vibrola Revisited (reissue)
Thanks Dan. Yep, same one and I do have some clearance bewteen the springs and wood. You hit the nail on the head with the comment "It does seem strange that the c58 unit is universally awful ". Perhaps disassembling (the kauffman) and streching out the springs might help. I don't know.

Kauffman Vibrola Revisited (reissue)
Ok, I will admit straight up that I am still a naive newbee relative to this forum (even though I've been a member for a couple years). EIther way, a very special c58 325 (mkII) made it's way to the home just this week. Opened the case, played a couple chords and then went to the arm and found it wo...

Capri arm on my Gibson L-12
Folks,
I had to share my latest upgrade-itis which includes a Winfield capri-style arm on my old archtop guitar. The Kauffman vibrato is original yet the original arm was lost somewhere along the way. Sounds just wonderful!
Enjoy your week!

Re: Acoustic Bass Guitar
Glad someone threw out the UBass as suggestion. I have a custom one, built buy the guy who created Kala version, that really has a nice deep tone. It's very portable and standup sounding. All in all, a very good instrument for acoustic style music. http://www.bassuke.com/images/032BB_complete_090806...
