Luthier In the Dallas Area - Help!

I've recently moved to Dallas (Denton to be precise) and am in need of a luthier that is comfortable with Rickenbackers. I've got two 3001s and a 4004 and I don't want to find out the hard way if they really know how to work with the dual truss rods. (of course they all say "sure, I can do that...

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

Okay, I figured it out. The pics were too big. Here are my two 3001s. The Blue is an April '77 and the Brown is a July '76. The neck of the brown one was already scarred when I got it. (I don't treat my basses that way!)
Hope this is what your friend was looking for.

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

So... I've taken the pics. But, for some reason it's not letting me upload them. I've tried multiple times and it's just not taking. I did the same thing as when I posted the pic of me playing the 3001, but it's just not uploading. Any suggestions?

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

Just to be clear, are you talking about the headstock, or where the neck mates with the body?
FYI, the necks of my two 3001s are different in how they're sloped where they're mated to the body.

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

Sure. Actually, I have two 3001s, the Blue '77 with a white TRC and a '76 Tobacco Burst with a black TRC.
I'll take some pics tonight and get them up by tomorrow morning.

Mike... I had the same problem with my fretless (alas, not a Rick). I've been using Dean Markley "Fret Master" strings. They're a "press wound string". Basically, they're round wound over the pickup area but the winding are pressed (flattened) over the fret board. So you get a ro...

Selling it to raise money for the wedding makes it twice as painful.

'76 3001 (Brown Burst?) '77 3001 Azureglo '00 4004 CII Green My first real bass was a brand new '77 (might have been a '76, I was 16 and too young to know better) 4001 Azureglo. Sold that one and bought an April '73 Burgandyglo 4001 (with all the vintage features) in 1979. Sold that for $500.00 when...

Yes. I ordered my trans green 4004 CII from them in 2001. They were great, everything arrived on time, packed well.

I've been using a Trace Combo SMC-7215 (300 watt, 7 band EQ, built in compression, single 15") with an Ashdown 2x10" + horn (Mag series I think) for about five years. I got the Trace new in '98 and added the Ashdown in '01. I'm using a '00 Trans Green 4004 (inside gigs) and a '76 3001 (out...

Hey guys. I'm your man. I've got a '76 3001 and a '00 4004 CII that I play regularly. First, no, you can't just drop a 4004 pickup into a 3001. The pickups on the 4004 are wider than the 3001s pickup so some routing would be in order. Second, the 3001s pickup is WAY hotter than the 4004's two. Belie...
