Re: 1993Plus!!!

Am I the only one who prefers the "standard" width neck over the wider one?

The Axe Files

Hi Everyone, I've created a Facebook group, The Axe Files, https://www.facebook.com/groups/264888563679018 , dedicated to posting stories about the search for and acquisition of our instruments. Fascinated by the "Pick of the Month" section of Dave Gregory's website, http://www.guitargonau...

Sorry I'm missing it. I really enjoyed attending Paul's past confluences.

Re: Any interest in a Chicago - Milwaukee area confluence?

I, too, am a bit late to this conversation, but am definitely interested in attending. Would be coming from Madison, but have no Chicagoland preference.

Re: Tonal differences - 2 or 3 pups on 300-series Rics

The middle pickup on a 370, with standard wiring, makes the "up" switch position usable as far as I'm concerned. It adds more mid-range than you can get by balancing in the bridge pickup with the fifth knob. Go here: http://www.myspace.com/tinfoilhelmetmusic, and listen to the opening chor...

Either Pete's a lot stronger now, or the modern Strats smash a lot easier...

I was really hoping to make it, but events conspired against me. Just pretend whoever drinks the most Great Lakes beer is me. We who can't be there need lots of pictures, of course.

Perhaps Mitch Easter could answer that for you. He may have used Mitch's 12 string on that song.

Re: Humbuckers on a 12-string

I once played one of the RCA 360/12SPC guitars. It had a darker tone than typical, but how much of that can be attributed to the HBs and how much to the walnut body is hard to say.

Re: Who inspired YOU to get into Rics?

Pete Townshend
Paul Weller
Peter Buck

These were the artists I listened to most during my formative guitar-playing years. Other cool Rickenbacker-playing artists I was exposed to later just reinforced my impression that Rickenbacker was the guitar for me.

Re: Are these inlays new?

The only thing I play on my six strings that I don't on my 12 string are bends greater than a half step. Play the 24th fret on a a twelve string? If it's there, why not?

Re: My 370/12 VP BBR is here!

Now they can issue a Peter Buck signature model with poured inlays, and it won't be just a stock Jetglo 360.
