Re: Original 5 Live, 1966

I totally enjoyed that live color clip! And I didn't miss the screaming girls a bit. They are a total waste of seconds -- Just sayin' I'd rather look at the Byrds...

Re: What Was It About The Searchers' Music?

Speaking from across the pond -- it was all about the high harmony and the drums on Needles & Pins. Then we got Don't Throw -- unbelievable high harmony and -- I think Frank called it the "Twiddly Guitar" -- I would wake up from sleep when CKLW broadcast them in the wee hours....my ear...

Re: Needles and Pins -- The Play

Roy, I am anxiously waiting to listen to it tomorrow after work. Do you mean that Mike Pender is actually playing himself in this, so we will hear him singing or speaking?? I am certain I will love it!! Thank you for sending me those files. :)

Re: Q & A

On this side of the pond, we are still wondering Who Killed Kennedy and then who is responsible for the Lindberg Kidnapping. There is a lot about the human condition that I find amazing, but being nosy -- it will never come to an end. And all the bookwriters of the world should be eternally happy fo...

Re: Till I Met You

I had no clue John McNally had recorded it! Which is why I posed the question.

Re: Till I Met You

It should have been an A side...That was a beautiful John McNally composition. It caught Rick's ear last night -- as I'm playing it as lead song on my YT channel and it plays everytime I go there which is often. What a beautiful production and brilliant example of teamwork :) !

Till I Met You

My YouTube friend, Bob, uploaded this John McNally composition, which is really pretty. I am trying to figure out who is singing the portion starting at 1:14. I'm stumped. ok4ZSSq9sOA Thanks for your help! Maybe after I've listened to them for 5 years, I'll be able to identify their chameleon voices...

Re: original v hit rides again

I love both versions here, and also the Hollies' original (which if memory serves is on "Evolution" or at least it was in the US). I'll go with The Searchers as I like John Blunt's drumming on this (sorry Cheri !). But The Everlys are an all time fave of mine. Roy, didn't Chris Curtis pro...

Re: Q & A

Would anybody care to volunteer to transcribe Roy's 40 minute video into text so we can find out their take on why Mike Pender left. As an American, I had a really hard time making out any of the lovely British accents. Or maybe Roy could tell us, approximately, what they said? It WAS good to...

Re: original v hit rides again

I see from Wikipedia that Louise Cordet is the goddaughter of Prince Philip - now there's a bit of trivia for you all!! Horrible performance, and sorry to say horrible production. And yes, my favourite Gerry Marsden song is the one about the boat ride... For some reason I find that his voice,...

Re: Frank Allen Interview

Wow, Roy, this made my day!!! (And it was a really annoying day.) To hear Frank talk about Chris and his sense of humor, and giving Chris full credit for bringing him on board, yea, that made me beyond happy! In one of the videos uploaded to YT, the uploader pointed out Frank's 'slap style' way of p...
