Re: New Baby - needs a little TLC
Thanks for the advice - after I posted I kind of realized the stupidity of the question - if it sounds good, then it ain't broke.

Re: Secrets of Good Lighting in Guitar Photography
If you are ever in the Cleveland area we can go out "shooting" and I would love to help you be as best as you can. It is kind of like playing a musical instrument, study and practice makes us better. Absolutely true - and I will look you up if I get around to a visit to the Rock and Roll ...

Re: Secrets of Good Lighting in Guitar Photography
I don't understand your comment of "(or more correctly, if you have a shutter, shutter speed)". Opening up the aperture is a correct method of adding more exposure, also. Of course, this affects depth (DOF) of field but it does add more light to the film/sensor. I rarely use flash, mostly...

Re: Secrets of Good Lighting in Guitar Photography
Remember that it's not as much about the light that you see as it is about the light that hits the sensor - the ways to increase that are to add a flash, softboxes, sunlight OR to increase the exposure time. To that point - get a tripod and try longer exposures. Proper exposure is key, not just mor...

Re: Psychedelia — "back to the future" or "forward to the past"
That aesthetic bleeds over to the other 60s psych mentioned in copious quantities in this thread but also influenced a lot of the later outbursts of psych like the '80s Paisley Underground -(I love that stuff: The Rain Parade, Opal, Green Pajamas etc) and is currently, -at least here in Portland an...

Re: British vs American?
Wasn't MC-5 the first punk band? Probably gonna get flamed for this, but I always had a hard time accepting the Pistols as much more than an angry act - but that might be because I missed the Pistols by a few years and heard them and PIL about the same time. There also seemed to be a bit of a social...

Although the last I payed attention was in the late 80's...they may have become more mundane with age. God knows I have.

Re: TRC exchange policy: normal for silver on black?
Sorry - kind of a dead thread - but anyone know it's even possible to get an older 4001 (late 70's) TRC from Ric - and whether they'd take a RI plexi for one?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: New Baby - needs a little TLC
Ok - another quick question - finally got around to checking the neck PU - measures 6.95K. Seen posts that indicate that anything under 8K is problematic -
Should I consider rewinding? Leave it as it is? Get a set of new (albeit higher gain) PU's? Or hunt down the mythical Sergio?
