The two flat head screws underneath the pickup that holds the base to the pickup can be loosened, that will allow you to slightly move the pickup at the base to align the magnets to the strings. My ‘75 4000 had the same issue.

So, I`m finishing up the restoration on my `75 BurgandyGlo bass, and the last thing to do is have the button top Hi-gain pickup rewound. I got it on Reverb knowing that it was in need of some help. Pickguard for 4000 bass

Hey all. I`m looking to restore my `75 BurgundydGlo 4000 bass, and was wanting to replace the non original PG that`s on now. I`ve contacted Pickguardian, but never heard back from them, so I`ve decided to make one myself. I was hoping someone out there would be willing to trace their 4000 PG for me....

4000 knobs

Well not 4000 actual knobs, but what type of volume and tone knob were used on a 1975 4000 bass? I`m restoring my burgundy glo 4000 back to it`s original glory, and have seen a few different type of knobs used through the years on these models.
