Re: Current Toaster Options

Cheers Collin. I guess he's going to have to leave it as is, as I guarantee he won't want to route slots to accomodate the longer magnets. Shame really, as it would give C58 owners an added option, without damaging the guitar. Thanks AFAIK, the RIC boutique mostly stocks parts for current models and...

Re: Current Toaster Options

Cheers Jason. A friend of mine wants to add a set of slightly hotter output toasters to his C58, but doesn't want to alter the original state of the guitar, so that he can revert it back to stock at any time. Good to know this before buying a C58, as I guess you're SOL in the event of any of the ori...

Current Toaster Options

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if current issue scatterwounds (7.4k) are available to order from Rickenbacker, with the short magnets, which sit flush with the base plate? I noticed in the boutique that the ones listed do not fit the 325c58 (all positions). I'm assuming that they must have a supply of...

Real or Fake?

Hey, Not really as up on the Rickenbacker bass models, as I am with the guitars, but I just came across this ad, and was wondering if it is a legit bass, or a fake? https://www.kijiji.ca/v-guitar/ottawa/rare-2014-rickenbacker-4004-c-ii-bass-open-to-certain-trades/1322699988?enableSearchNavigationFla...

Thanks so much! Really appreciate it. It'll be a nice little project for my lathe.

Re: Old Beatles Cover Done in my Home Studio

Thanks so much Wim for the kind review. It's greatly appreciated.

Definitely one of my favourites also.

Cheers and many thanks for taking the time to listen.

"Burns" Knobs Dimensions

Hey Everyone, I've searched the site, but have not been able to find any thread, which gives you the dimensions of the Burns Knobs that Lennon used on his 325, during the first Ed Sullivan show. I'm just Scottish enough to refuse to pay $80USD for 4 knobs, when I have a lathe at home and can fabrica...

Old Beatles Cover Done in my Home Studio

Old Beatles cover from a "Hard Day's Night" album.
Just messing about in my home studio. Played all instruments and did all vocals.
Didn't have my Rickenbacker 12-string at the time, so may go back and add it to the recording one of these days.

Is Sergio MIA???

Hey Everyone, Just wondering if Sergio still visits the board, and in particular, the pickup winding forum? It looks as if his last visit here was last year, so does anyone know if he's given up on the board? I've got a dead 12k toaster that needs major surgery, and I see that Sergio has helped quit...

Re: Remaking a Toaster Top pickup

Superb work Koji! Very impressive. Would you be so kind as to share your techniques for building the new bobbins? Are they one solid piece of bakelite, machined to match the VP-31 bobbin, or is it made in separate pieces that you join together? Are you able to separate the top and bottoms of the bob...

Re: 325 Bigsby Installation

I'm wondering if your B5 is NOS? That is the only thing that I can think of, as clearly, the older B5's seemed to be shorter than the newer models. That 109.5mm measurement is clearly a B50, based on current productions (the blueprints for both are on the bigsby site), so the only answer that I can ...
