Re: Quick primer on 4001/4003 models for new bass shopper?
I've gathered that certain early 70s 4001 models are highly desirable---what makes them special compared to earlier or later models?

Quick primer on 4001/4003 models for new bass shopper?
Hi, I hope this is not too general a question, but... I've got several Rick guitars, and I am now seriously considering getting my first Rick bass. I have gathered that there are differences between various years of 4001 and/or 4003 basses, but I have not gotten a really good sense of what the diffe...

Nobody with a Blueboy 360/12 needs to apologize for her Rick collection! Whose autographs are on the pickguard?

Re: Used Ricks with Warranty Cards?!?!?
Just so there was absolutely no confusion or dispute, I send mine certified---it only cost a couple bucks, and now I can get confirmation of the day it was mailed, and that it was delivered, from the USPS web site whenever necessary. Some eBay ads make it sound like having the original warranty card...

Used Ricks with Warranty Cards?!?!?
Am I missing something? It seems like a LOT of used Ricks are advertised for sale with the usual case candy, including an un-filled-out warranty card. When I got a new Rick recently, one of the first things I did was fill out and mail in the warranty card. It just seemed prudent. Why wouldn't everyb...

Re: Looking for new 650
Thanks for the leads, everybody. My friend is now vacillating between the 650D and 650C. But he's getting closer to pulling the trigger on something.
He saw a picture somewhere of a Jetglo 650C that he really liked, if anyone knows of one of those somewhere.

Re: Looking for new 650D
Addendum: he's expressed an interest in the Dakota, but leads on other 650 variants would also be appreciated!

Looking for new 650
A friend of mine has come down with GAS for a 650D, and he'd prefer to get a new one. Over the coming days we will undertake a tedious search of dealer web sites, but I thought it might be quick and efficient to post here and see if anybody knows of dealers that have one in stock. I see there's one ...

Re: Acoustic Control Corporation - yay?
Re using a 230 for bass, I know that some of the old Acoustic guitar amps and bass amps were the same amps, just with some additional bells and whistles on the guitar version---for instance, the 140 (bass) and 150 (guitar) are exactly the same amp except that one channel on the 150 has reverb and tr...

Re: Acoustic Control Corporation - yay?
There's a guy on the Acoustic forum (linked above) with the screen name Vetchking who sells parts for restoration of old Acoustic amps and cabinets. I'm pretty sure the metal corners are one of the things he supplies. If not, he or somebody there should be able to direct you. Edit: he may be the sam...

Re: What;'s the best Guitar/Bass Stand?
I have one of these I like real well. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Hercules-Stands-GS412B-Single-Guitar-Stand?sku=453078[/color] I have a couple of those, and they work great: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2332/2299687138_f8e52dd27f.jpg?v=0 They are great if you also have asymmetrical or...

Re: 2008 Rickenbacker Family Photos
Well, I got two more Ricks this week so I figure the count as a family now: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2145/2303984959_4ef2b97ab5.jpg The right rear one is my latest: a 340VBVP BG ('02 COY). A perfect storm of cool features, all coincidentally NLA. The 660/12 MID also just arrived. Also visible ...

Midnight Blue. I posted a picture in the "My First New Rickenbacker" thread in the "Guitars" forum. Oh yes, it's very nice!dustymurphy wrote:What color did you get? I'm all 660 obsessed right now waiting for my 660/12AFG to roll up to my door.

Re: My First Brand New Rickenbacker
It's here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2332/2299687138_f8e52dd27f.jpg It's not as dark as I thought it would be---I had heard that the newest MID guitars were darker than previously, almost black unless the light caught them just right, but this one seems to be the same shade of blue as most othe...
