A Question About the 360W and 330W
HI Everybody, It's been a while. I hit a major money crunch, and I had to sell my 2007 mapleglo 360 3 years ago. :( Other things in life came up, and getting a replacement Ric got put off. Well, things have settled down a bit financially, and I'm hankering for another Ric (perferably another 360, si...

Re: The W Series
I got the chance to play a 360W yesterday. I sounded great, and had a killer neck. I was seriously considering putting it on layway (I have credit with the guitar shop where I played it). But ya snooze, ya lose! The 360W was bought over the phone, a couple minutes before I made up my mind to buy it...

Re: Neck profile on walnut series?
I played a 360W yesterday, and I thought the profile was a little flatter, and maybe slightly wider than that of the 360s I've had over the years. The satin finish sure felt good! I would have put the guitar on layaway, if It hadn't been bought over the phone, a couple of minutes before I made up my...

Re: VOX AC50CP2 - Looks kind of cool.
I seriously GASed for an AC50CP2H a few years ago. A local music store, that is a Vox dealer had the head version (and also the 100 watt AC100CP2H head). It sounded absolutely killer for clean stuff, hot rodded AC30 tones, and (what was a real plus for me) metal tones! Unfortunately, I didn't have t...

Re: What was your second ricky?
My first one was a 1994 JG 360. I had that guitar until 1999, when I sold it during a cash shortage. In 2008, I got lucky, and re-discovered it at a local Music-Go-Round. I managed to scrounge up the cash, and re-bought it. Like an idiot,I traded it towards a Gretsch G6120 Brian Setzer Hot Rod in ea...

Re: Something Different - Bottle Rockets Ric Action
Ah! One of my favorite bands (and yes, I have owned a few "thousand dollar cars" so I can relate). I play some of their songs with my 380L/PZ. Nice to see them adopting RICs. Hopefully they will continue down that road. :D :D Gravity Fails is my favorite Bottle Rockets song. Although I th...

Something Different - Bottle Rockets Ric Action
I've been a fan of the Bottle Rockets ("Radar Gun", "Sunday Sports", "1000 Dollar Car", "Kit Kat Clock", etc.) for about 20 years. Their guitar choices can be pretty eclectic, but I've never seen them playing Rics. Here's a show from earlier this year in Milwa...

Re: Let's get microtonal!
Microtonal stuff is cool. There's a guy on the 7-string guitar forum, who's into microtonal stuff, and had a custom microtonal fretted 7-string made. Jon Catler, has been doing microtonal music for over 20 years. He also sells mictrotonal fretted necks, and entire microtonally set up guitars (they'r...

Re: YOUR Signature Model
Lessee - a 360 or 360F, with the wider neck, that the 650s and 660s have. Pickups - Hi-Gains. Get rid of the 5th control, and the Rick-o-Sound (I've never used them on my 360s). If you REALLY want to make me smile, make it a 7-string. but with a neck a bit wider than what a 660 has (I'm not a fan of...

Re: How do Hi-Gains.. compare to P90s
Having had guitars with both Hi-Gains and P-90s, I'd have to agree with the previous posts - Hi-Gains are nowhere near as quacky/midrangey as P-90s are. They also have a bit more treble to them sound-wise. Also, High-Gains are a bit hotter output-wise, due to being a bit overwound compared to P-90s ...

Hi Colin, welcome to the RRF! Yeah, the guitar looks a little ugly, but you got it for a steal IMO! Do some remedial work on it (especially in a cosmetic sense), and it'll be quite the axe.
