Re: 4005XC
I'm like teeder. I'm near Toronto where there's a million instruments and national dealers. In the past 30 years, I've seen 2 Ric basses in those stores. The smaller shops that sell vintage gear have had all the 4xxx models and a 3001. I've yet to see a 4005 Light Show or GF2030 bass.

Re: Can a fretless be played without all the mwah/meow?
A variance on make/model... I was in the music store specifically to check out a certain amp. I grabbed a nearby bass, on a stand and began playing. After a good five minutes, I realized it was a (lined) fretless, not a Ric. Nevertheless, I never once heard a mwah when using my every day technique. ...

Re: Tom Petty tribute band with a fake Ric.
I'm a Ric bass owner. If it were me working in a tribute band I would strive to own a genuine instrument (for any tribute - Beatles, AC/DC, Bon Jovi...whoever) but I have to say that I believe the majority of audience members wouldn't know the different between a knock-off, copy or something that ki...

Those guys are a regular 'Corporate' sponsor on a Canada-wide buy-sell online application. I'm not interested; I own a real Ric.

It's exactly like my '05 Monte except for the checkerboard binding and push/pull pot. It's a great colour. Love my 4003.

Re: What is UP with ebay -- 4001v63 content
Avoid all eBay ads for guitars that come from Japan. If you look at prices over the past year, they've gone to a level beyond ridiculous. There are a few dealers there and yes the same photos appears among their ads. I believe that they're looking for suckers to make a buy who are not conversant wit...

Re: Anyone using a Kemper profiler?
My friend, a rhythm guitarist, has acquired one. I hadn't heard about them, so asked him to explain what the features are. I find it's interesting, but I've achieved my goal - simplicity and light weight. I can't be bothered investing time on the learning curve, nor will I spent the money required f...

Re: Who gigs with a combo amp?
I use a Fender Rumble 200, 15” speaker. It’s about 175 Watts, only 200 Watts with an extension cab. Plenty loud and you can use Line Out or mic if desired.
