When I worked at Fostex I had a Hakko 936 on my work bench. It gave me no problems. I would only have to change out tips every other month or so. It held target temps. great and was a very adjustable unit. Apparently the 936 is discontinued and was replace by the FX-888. I have no experience with th...

The bassist, Al Cisneros, is a really nice guy and a Ric bass nut. I dealt with him a time or two at RIC. Yeah, Al is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. OM is currently recording a new album and he is using quite a few different Rickenbacker basses. One being a 5 string. Al is a member here...

the box the guitar leaves the factory in says to allow to sit at room temperature for 48 hours. so, there's that.

i like it! from here on out it will be considered whiskyglo.

I'll take this time to thank eric again for doing such a great job refinishing the bass. when i bought the bass in 1999 it was jetglo and then a few years back had it refinished.
