Re: New faker site

Well if they have the nerve to stamp Rickenbacker made in USA on the trc, what about the D'Addario strings packet in the photos! They too could be **** strings in faker packaging right. :? As a certain underground uni/indie band from the UK once proclaimed; "Nothing is real"..................

Re: NBD 4004

Good to see another 4004 here in Oz.
I too have a 2008 Cheyenne Mapleglow. Difference is mine has the Schaller bridge. Is your bridge an ABM, or something else?

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

G'day,
I think the 330 is a 2008 custom Shop '67 reissue.
I did the VVT mod last year, after reading about it on this forum :)

Re: D'Addario Nylon Tapewound ETB92

My D'Addario Nylon Tapewound ETB92 strings arrived today, I have put them on my LS Decade & played them for about an hour, I like 'em. Even on the treble pup with the tone wide open, the tone isn't harsh. Much lower tension than the previous strings which is great if you like bending strings som...

Re: D'Addario Nylon Tapewound ETB92

Funny that,
I have just ordered a set from Evil Bay, they should arrive next week. :)
They will be going on my Lakeland Skyline Decade first, then I might try them on my 4003.
I will let you know my opinion

Saw this on evilbay a few days ago. Just want to ask if anyone has tried one and what were the results. It looks good.

Re: 4004Cii V/V/T mod

Hello Webspeare,
I too made the change to V/V/T on my 2008 Cheyenne & I find it most useful, in hindsight I would have spent a little more cash on the mod & gone for coil taps as well. I have a coil tap HB1 on my 4003, sounds great!

Re: 4003 Deadspot Issue

Ok so its a few days later , I tried a brand new D string, but there was no change, backed off the lower (D,G) truss rod, but there is no improvement there either. Guess I will just have to live with it.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Re: 4003 Deadspot Issue

Thanks for the feedback. The bass is currently wearing D'addario nickels, other strings I have tried on this bass are chrome flats, Warrick Reds, also the original Ric strings it came with. I have a brand new set of Roto' Swing Bass waiting for this bass, so first off I will install the Roto' D strin...

4003 Deadspot Issue

Hi folks, I have 2009 4003. My problem is a deadspot; D string frets 8,9, & 10. The sustains approx 20 - 30% on these frets compared to those either side on the D string or the rest of the fretboard on any other string. I have had several sets of strings on this bass but the result is the same. ...

Re: reviews of 4004

Nice basses,, alot of quirks, wiring them volume/ volume/ tone, or concentric volume/tone,,volume/tone is really a must in my opinion to open up a little versatility. All things considered,,If I would go out and buy a Rickenbacker tomorrow,,, I would shop for a new 4004 Laredo. I'd love to try one ...

Re: After Market Pups

Ok so I installed the Bart RC pup in the treble position of my 4003. Played it at rehersal on sunday, sounds good, a slightly more rounded smoother sound, but not dull or muddy at all, & no hum. This coupled with the coiltapped HB1 at the neck seems to be a nice combination. The Bart is slightly...
