Re: Bass Amp Recommendations

My current amp is an Ampeg 7Pro over a SVT410HLF. I can go bigger or smaller based on the venue.

Re: "Playing" with pickups....

I got the mudbucker installed yesterday. The only mod to the body was to make the cavity just a little bigger. This was done on the bridge side of the whole. I'm liking the tone I'm getting now. I played it last night for about a half an hour. I've also put a mudbucker on my P-bass. One pickup and j...

"Playing" with pickups....

I'm looking a more traditional deep bass one from my neck pickup. Has anyone ever put an old Gibson "mudbucker" pickup in the neck position on a 4001s (replacing the original toaster). The routing under the pickguard is already big enough that no mods to the body will have to be made. What...

Re: Who's still waiting on a 4003S?

If the color was anything other than Jetglo I wouldn't consider the reshaping. I'll be taking my bass to a friend who has painted a few guitar bodies for me. He has also done paint and body work on my '69 Camaro. His business is complete classic car restorations. Dave

Re: Who's still waiting on a 4003S?

The contour at the "waist" along the top as your playing is just fine. It's the contour running between the"waist" around to the bridge that has a sharp radius. To play while standing I would have to push the bass to my left to avoid the sharp contour.

Re: Who's still waiting on a 4003S?

It's here! Arrived today. A beautiful Jetglo. I'll be making some changes however, before I gig with it. I'm waiting for JF344's to show up. I'll probably have my painter friend re-contour the body so its not so sharp on my forearm. If I don't change the contour I'll have to change my standing posit...
