Gretsch G6128TVP Power Jet™ $1550 Shipped- pp

Gretsch G6128TVP Power Jet™ As brand new. Purchased 1/3/2010 because I didn't think I could find a Duo jet TDS w/Dyna's. Right after buying this I found the one I was actually looking for. I've played this around my home. It's an awesome player. Set up perfect. I just can't afford 2 Duo-jets. This ...

Re: Rickenbacker 620 w/ Minor Mods and no drilling

... It's not a beginners or even an intermediate players amp. ... If the majority of American business put out the quality product that John Hall and Mike Zaite (Doc Z ) do. Our economy wouldn't be such a mess. Thanks for the review. Of course, with it not being a beginners or even an intermediate ...

Re: Rickenbacker 620 w/ Minor Mods and no drilling

Let me first say this. If u like the Beatles and you own any Rickenbacker or Gretsch the tones are there without even trying. Even though some say you need a 325. I can get alot of Lennon's sound using my 350v63 . Using my 620 with Wilbury's and Petty stuff is pretty spot on. Playing Harrisons lead ...

Re: putting 6105's on a Rickenbacker 350v63

Paul would opting for the slightly larger fret ruin the guitar? I've had my original 350 for about 5 years or so. While I've gotten used to the Frets being smaller. This latest 350 seems like the frets are really small. Even though the older guitar clearly needs new frets. They still seem taller tha...

Rickenbacker 620 w/ Minor Mods and no drilling

Image

USED a Winfield Bracket R to Accent . Was able to use the same holes used for the R tail piece . No new holes or drilling involved. I can convert back to R tailpiece at anytime. Look how pretty this example of fireglo is::

Re: putting 6105's on a Rickenbacker 350v63

I am hoping Paul can tell me what to use that may be a tad higher ..Plus the same tang ..Both these Luthiers said if I can't find the same tang there's no going back. I did read an older thread in the Rickenbacker Forum where Paul stated never to use anything but what was on it to begin with. I wond...

Re: putting 6105's on a Rickenbacker 350v63

I take it by the lack of response this is a no no. I asked the question because my 620(new) definately has a slightly larger fret than my 350's do. Why is that

putting 6105's on a Rickenbacker 350v63

Is this a bad idea..I have my older 350v63 . after buying a new one I can tell the other needs Fret work. 2 separate Luthiers in town suggested 6105's or at least something taller than the stock frets. They said I'd be happier ..Plus the guitar would be easier for playing and bending notes. Has anyo...

Best playing most versatile Gretsch

I know nothing about these guitars. I just played a real low end one last night. Sort of looked like a Duo Jet. I was amazed what a great player it was. I plan on between 2-3 K for something. I play Chuck Berry Beatles the who Areosmith Plus more modern stuff. What Gretsch should I be looking at. Al...

Re: What's the difference Gretsch G6128-1957 or DSV

I would Google Search each model: When I Googled "Gretsch 6128-1957," the links that the search pulled up were for a "G" tailpiece guitar with Dynasonics and a Space Controller Bridge. When I Googled "Gretsch 6128 DSV," the links that the search found were all "61...

Re: What's the difference Gretsch G6128-1957 or DSV

"DSV" stands for "Dyna-Sonic" pickups, but ANY `57 RI should have those. Perhaps the seller omitted a letter or number or two from the ad description. The 1957 might also be the George Harrison style 6128 that was put into production a few years beck, as opposed to the soon to b...

Does the Flamed wood actually weigh less?

Body wood weight differences. I suppose this makes a big difference to some and none to others. For me it depends on the guitar. With Rickenbacker guitars. I notice that some of the Dealers list guitar weights. The 660 for example or 620 seem to weigh 7.5 to 8 lbs in Jetglo and MB. In Maple or Fireg...
