Re: Mastery Bridge: Does It Make A Difference?

Setup. I see some comments that the 2 barrel design compromises height adjustment or intonation. It actually doesn't, and can be adjusted perfectly in both cases. But what it does compromise slightly is the ease of setup. When setting the guitar up initially, you'll often have to go back to the A a...

Re: Mastery bridge for lefty?

With the stock bridge, the intonation for each string can be adjusted individually, and on the same radius as the fretboard. The Mastery cannot do either with two saddles. The locking baseplate is an innovation, but the builder won't sell those separately. Never had a problem getting the intonation...

Re: Rickenbacker 12 vs Gibson ES-335 12

All the new 335 12-strings have the push/pull component. The originals from the late 60s and early 70s don't.

Re: 1993Plus!!!

I know the neck is slightly wider on these, but that neck looks way chunky compared to one on a regular 360 style guitar.

I've been living in the Inner West area of Sydney, Australia for the last nine years. Spent a lot of time in various other places in New South Wales and also Hobart, Tasmania before that.

Re: 1993Plus!!!

Wow! I thought I was content with my CW and C63 12-stringers. This one might get me to change my mind.

Re: Concert/Octave or Octave/Concert

Marty Willson-Piper from The Church and the guys from Midnight Oil are others who have flipped the strings on their Ricky 12s. If you are going to attack the strings and play hard, rather than just play arpeggios or rhythm guitar, then I think "traditional" tuning may work better for you o...

Re: Letting Your Kids Use Your Guitars

Thanks guys. Raph, the kid in question, doesn't actually get a free ride. He's copped a bit from both me and his mother (my partner) over his handling of my guitars. He's got a part-time job now and is saving up for his first "expensive" guitar. I think he'll learn a few things once he's g...

Letting Your Kids Use Your Guitars

My partners 16 year-old son is a pretty good player and enjoys coming over to our place and using my guitars. He usually uses my MIJ Jazzmaster, but lately he's taken a bit of a shine to my '67 335. The problem is that he isn't the most careful of kids, so far he's cracked the top pick guard and som...

Re: 12 string bridge question

Yep, I have a 12 saddle TOM style bridge on my Gibson ES-335 12-String and it's still slightly out.
