Re: Question about this combo 450(?) my grandfather bought

Not intending to douse any enthusiasm, but I recommend looking at the date codes on the potentiometers to confirm that they date to that era and are not modern ones. I have seen a number of "tribute" instruments, made by expert luthiers, that look like the real deal, and it would be good ...

Re: Screw heads and shielding tape?

When I redesigned my 350 circuit for a 6-way switch, parallel/series & phase switching on 3 pickups, https://www.rickresource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=402990 I decided to not shield the cavity because I re-wired the pickups so that each had an independant ground wire that was connected to the m...

Re: How do you point your knobs?

Directly at my eyes... Oh, you mean on my guitar? I set the dot so it is on the far-left-side-viewable-edge of the knob when on 10, then when turning CCW it goes across the visible side of the knob so I can tell how all three pickups (or two, but less important then) are all set relative to ...

Re: How many ways can an HB1 be wired and what are the effec

I installed the Jimmy Page Les Paul mod into my RIC 650F, which has two humbuckers. The JPLP adds push/pull pots into the regular LP layout to give you: the ability to split each HB into single coil, and the ability to switch phase and series/parallel between either of the HB/SC. The version I used ...

Re: The Nude Party

Wow great! I just watched alot of their performances online. (no more months of hunting and talking to people... thx web. i think?)
Sounds like indie kids who grew up in OklaTexArKana and started a band with other Velvet Underground fans. Good stuff!

Re: Guitar porn thread

Cool! There's even more of a Mosrite vibe with the front jack and single piece pickups... The 620 looks great with the slim bodied trem. Now time for a Mastery bridge!

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I posted this link originally in the "Rickenbacker copycats" forum and having stumbled across this thread think it actually belongs here. Here is a link to a custom guitar painted in a similar manner. While not my cup of tea, it certainly looks interesti...

How Jetglo got its name?

From the mineraloid gemstone, the source of the term "jet-black" ? Who knew?!?!?! (I have not heard of "Jet" until today. Glad I did!)

Re: New member and NGD 1967 360. Needs some input

Looks like fun! I’m jealous that you’ll have the end result, but not of all that time you’ll need to put in. Good luck! Pretty sure that “toaster” with 7 pole pieces each made of 3 layers of magnetic material and visible winding wires around a clear plastic bobbin is a newish non-RIC manufactured kn...

Re: iiipopes or Freeway Switch?

I used the Freeway v.2 on my mod of a 3-pickup 350 Liverpool. I wired it as a typical 3-way N/ N+B /B, and can then add the middle pickup to those combos using the other three positions. So you get N+M/ N+B+M /B+M. I also used push-pulls to get phase and series/parallel options. Extremely versatile!...

Re: Little Leroy Mod on 350V63

Sounds like a usefully good and pragmatic mod!
Do you really like treble? The pickup is mounted pretty angular-ly.
