Re: Traditional or Rickenbacker 12 string setup

It seems like it isn't a 'one or the other' proposition... both ways have advantages and disadvantages. I have traditional strung 12's (albiet they are acoustic) and now have a 12 stirng Ric strung Ric-fashion. I find each style to lend to inspiration to play them according to their nuances in their...

Re: Amp for 12 string?

Update: FIrst, I appreciate all the feedback I read in response to this post and in all the other areas of the forum...a lot of great experience out there... I narrowed by immediate search down to the cleaner amps (for the particular clean 12 string tone I was going for). I sure wished I could have ...

Re: Amp for 12 string?

I really appreciate all the replies and information to my original question...although I am not certain I am further along in my decision process than I was at the start  But...the feedback here and what I've continued to read in other posts seem to steer me towards a 'cleaner' amp and one that...

Re: Acoustic guitar strings

Give 'John Pearse' strings a try...or read up on them first if you like...I use them on my Taylor LKSM 12 and Martin HD-28 and am happy with their sound and feel....

Re: RIP Brad Delp

'Hitch a Ride' is one of the best songs on that first album. Boston's sound was a big influence on me in my rock band days in the seventies - loved the combination of acoustic and electric guitars along with the B3 organ sound - but Delp's voice was what really differentiate their sound. We covered ...

The signed album... $150,000 - the opportunity for a young kid to meet the Beatles on their very first visit to America - priceless!

Amp for 12 string?

Now I am racking my brains over an amplifier for my (soon to be) new Ric 12 string.... I have a vintage (70's) Fender Champ.... and also some Leslies and such (mostly a keyboard player). Vox? Fender? AC15 or Ac30? Deluxe Reverb? If so, New "reissue" or vintage? ....too many options. There ...

Re: Jeff Beck does Les Paul

I'll be seeing this show in So CA in early April....looking forward to it! I've seen Jeff several times (first time with Beck Bogart and Appice in 1970's and then a few times recently over the past several years) and always enjoy his shows.
