Re: Is it happening? A new 4005?!

A dealer here ive used before thinks based on the RRP hes been quoted by the distributor that the UK price will be £5999/£6299.

If thats true im totally out of buying one, that's crazy money.

Re: Is it happening? A new 4005?!

I can only presume the Rosetti price here in the UK is very, very, VERY wrong if you guys in the states are getting told about $4K on your pre-orders...

4005XC

These have come down *a little* in price in the UK now, surprisingly (if you look around on the net). So im *a little* tempted by them... anyone else out there got one already? Mainly im interested in the weight of it, how it sounds acoustically (and is it loud?), what the case looks like (and if it...

Re: RIC 4003 RED BT Finish Purchase

"Pillar Box Red" has also been a special edition colour here in the UK, you can still see a fair few of these for sale at the big vendors...

Re: 1980 4001 - no side fretboard markers?

You are right sir - there is a slight change in the binding colour from the side to the edge. The older binding on the top edge is yellowed a lot more, indicating its age (I think)

As requested, heres a few pics (now ive remembered how to upload things again and that they needed resizing!)

Re: 1980 4001 - no side fretboard markers?

Hey all! Thanks for all the comments about the bass. I think ill get my local Ric chap to add some fret markers on there, ive grown to depend on them over the years in low light situations so I think im gonna need them... or there may be some very interesting semitone harmonies ill end up coming out...

Re: 1980 4001 - no side fretboard markers?

Think youre probably on to something in regards to the re-fret... Forgive my ignorance, how obvious is it that the bass has had a refret without playing it? There's obviously a marked difference between this and my '82 4001 which has not had a refret (and REALLY needs it!) but im wondering what you ...

Re: 1980 4001 - no side fretboard markers?

Odd isnt it? Only theory I have is that the previous owner removed them for some reason, or Ric simply missed them off when it got built. Like i said - internally everything checks out... correct serial plate etc etc... just no dots... (!?!)
