Re: MAJOR Kudos

wow, what a pretty guitar!

Given what Rickenbacker's production schedule must be like trying to fulfill orders, with the commitment to standard models that it must entail, I do hope this is a trend that continues, even if only sporadically for now. Wow.

Re: Looking for a 450 wiring schematic or control cavity photos

yeah it's bad ... thankfully the butcher mangled that and the pickguard but stopped short of destroying the electronics. I can replace the pickguard (and will) and the remaining damage will be hidden.

Hope these are of some use Bob.

Re: 450-12 arrival

Thanks!

The more I play it the more I like it ...

I've always had a soft spot for unbound dot marker Ricks, be it these, or 1997/98's, and 610/615's.

Re: Strings for a Rick 12

For the past few years I've sworn by TI flats on my 360-12V64 ... custom sets that I put together based on a long ago post somewhere. Now that the POTR custom sets are available I'm going to try those. I just love the action, feel, and sound of flats on a 12 string. (On my Rick 6's I used the standa...

Re: 450-12 arrival

Thanks! I have some things to learn about these older guitars ... such as the particulars of the truss rods, etc. Gotta make sure I find a competent setup person in the event I don't work on them myself. I called the store at which I purchased my 360-12V64 only to find they don't do Rick setups ... ...

Re: 450-12 arrival

Thanks! It does. Feels great. Now that it's acclimated itself fully, it has turned from a tuning nightmare into a guitar that won't go out of tune ... logical given the conditions it has traveled through. Wow. An absolute blast to play. Thank you Rickenbacker for making guitars that are the pinnacle...

450-12 arrival

Hi all - My '66 450-12 arrived today in the brutal heat the Northeast is going through right now ... I did let it sit for a while before opening in order to slowly acclimate (I am fortunate to have central air). Took a while to tune but seems to be holding up now. I have a whole host of setup questi...

Re: Richard X. Heyman - 60s 375

Just had to resurrect this thread ... not too long ago I discovered Richard (and that fantastic 375) and I've been buying his cd's one by one. Cornerstone was the first ... what an album (and song)! Thoroughly inspiring!!!

This is a fantastic forum with a lot of great people and great info ... just taking it all in right now, and waiting for UPS to deliver the new 12 string. It's goin...

Re: Help me find my 4001?

This is a GREAT story! Congratulations John on getting your long lost bass back, and Jeff, you are truly a hero among men!! I too have a long lost Rick I'd like to find again someday ... a 1986 325V63 which was my very first guitar, I bagged groceries in high school to pay for it and made payments f...

Re: intro/first post

LOL yes, I believe it's an incurable disease!

In my wildest dreams I could have never imagined getting two 60's Rickys but I love the feel of the 450 so much, I figured getting a matching 12 string would be the proper thing to do ... :D
