Re: A little 10CC

Don't know why, but I am continually surprised when I find out bands I've always liked used Rick instruments, especially the bass. Maybe I should just start assuming..... Thanks, Brian. You're not alone. There's usually a Rickenbacker in the background in the good music. I dunno why, but that's how...

Ben Folds Rocking the Suburbs

I heard this the other day and had a look . . . sure enough, the Rickenbacker bass is the one that makes the final 'rock out' at the end. (Skip to 4:00)

Such an incredible bass tone from a place you wouldn't expect. I love Ben :D

Re: (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth

Its an interesting one though... Cliff modded his BurgundyGlo Ric quite heavily... this pic shows it nicely http://images.wikia.com/metallica/images/e/e2/Cliff_4.jpg He slapped in an EB3 pickup at the neck and a DiMarzio J pickup in at the bridge. I think the bass itself is at his mum and dad's hou...

That paint job reminds me of early 90s Ibanez guitars! Love it.

Re: Buying A Ric From Overseas

Great thread guys, I am in the exact same position as the OP, but am looking for a Midnight Blue 4003.

Thanks for the helpful info, I didn't know about sites like Olivias or PickOfTheRicks nor the USPS problem either.

Re: Compressors

I have started using a DBX 166 live and I highly recommended them. They're a bit less 'natural' than an Empircal Labs Distressor but are far far cheaper and even cheaper than a 160 (which plenty of BS surrounds about how amazing it is).
