HELP! 6119 1962 Tennessee Rose case problem.
I just bought a brand new G6119 1962FT this week and love it through and through. The only thing is the case seems extremely deep, like as if it were meant for a 6120. How deep is a reissue 6119 1962 case supposed to be? The case I have is 5.5" when closed (not including the arch in the top). I...

Re: Is this Made In Japan Gretsch worth $1000?
What's the depth of the case for a Tenny reissue like this supposed to be? I just bought one two days ago and I think the case I have might be for a 6120. It's just a little bit on the deep side.

I'm happy about my remastered CDs because I bought the mono mixes! It was my Christmas present to myself.

Re: Hofner builds a bass for the working man.
I bought a Contemporary Violin Bass last year and only had it for about six months. It was a fine piece on it's own but didn't feel like a German Hofner. I missed that full hollow body and the "thump" of the low E string. The CT series would be good for someone who wants the look and gener...

The prototype B-Bender is owned by Marty Stuart. It's super "road worn" and sounds GREAT in person!

Re: 50's Capri (etc.) in action
Dave, didn't anybody ever tell you Rickenbackers are only good for jangly rhythm?
Nice veratility demonstration! You didn't explain how you get the middle PU on it's own, did you use the fifth knob?
Thanks, Chris

Re: Signature models
The unbound, dot neck, hardtail 330 reverse fireglo Joe Edwards guitar is currently for sale at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville for $8,000. They have good pics of it on the website. It's a beauty in person!
I guess one was a 365 and one was a 330?

Re: 21 fret necks PLEASE
A few years ago, Ed Roman Guitars in Las Vegas had new '60s styled 330s and 360s with 21 fret necks and toaster pickups. They looked really sharp. It appears he's not a Ric dealer anymore (I can't find any Ric info on his site) but there's bound to be some of them out there. I think it looks great h...

Re: True or False: If you don't like vintage frets...
I prefer vintage frets. I tried playing a new Fender American Special Telecaster in a shop and the huge frets were definitely a deal breaker. Smaller frets feel and (to my ears) sound better.

Re: Lead Guitar Solos on 6 String Ric's
Lennon would do the occasional lead on his 325. Yes, but I'm talking about stereotypes developed by the general population who read on the back of the album jacket: John Lennon/Rhythm Guitar. I doubt before the Beatles anybody said "A Rickenbacker is only good for rhythm" and when you thi...

Re: What drew you to Rickenbacker?
My number one reason: John with 325 in "A Hard Day's Night" My number two reason: George with his 360/12 in "A Hard Day's Night" My number three reason: Paul with his 4001 on the inside cover of "Magical Mystery Tour" Because of this, my opinion is that six string Ricks...

Amazing how the majority guessed right. These blind sound tests can so often be very humbling.

Re: Which guitar cable???
George L cables are great, but they sometimes go "microphonic" and can make a noise similar to a garbage truck if you pick them up and drop them on the floor. I us them when I play steel guitar since I just sit there and my instrument isn't moving around. Again, they sound great.

That's a really good look! The blue boy color is so subtle and classy with the gold covers.
