Re: George with 325

The Hessy's receipt from 1960 for George's Graziozo shows the serial number. The guitar in London is George's old Graziozo as the serial number matches. There was only one George Graziozo Futurama.

In a letter George Harrison wrote in October of 1960 to his friend 'Archibald Lad'(written while at The Kaiserkellar) George states "Rory Storm And The Hurricanes came out here the other week, and they are crummy. He does a bit of dancing around but it still doesn't make up for his phoney group...

Kent, just check out the Jurgen Vollmer photos from spring of '61 at The Top Ten Club. George is playing his Graziozo Resonet with maple neck. The Rory Futurama story is quite simply, ********.

Show me a photo of George playing a Futurama with a rosewood neck? There aren't any. The first trip to Hamburg(1960) is well documented with Astrid Kirchher photos and the second trip(1961) is also well documented with Jurgen Vollmer photos. Plus other photos from that period. George only plays his ...

No problem. If you have the book, look near the end and you'll see the Futurama with the pickguard intact. Somebody must have told them it should say Resonet on the upper pickguard. They broke that part off for the photo in the middle of the book. Theirs would have said Futurama Foreign instead of R...

Yes, the one posted in the True Beginnings book has a rosewood neck. There are no photos showing George playing a Futurama with a rosewood neck. His was very early with the maple neck. I saw the Rory guitar when it was at The Beatles Story. I couldn't believe they displayed it there as George's.

George only had one Graziozo and used it for the first two trips to Hamburg. It was eventually raffled off and is still in London. The Best guitar had nothing to do with George Harrison. It has the rosewood neck and is about a year later than George's. George would already be playing his Duo-Jet whe...

Those photos were taken by Jergen Volmer in the late morning at The Top Ten Club. He talks about these photos in his Genesis Publications book titled 'From Hamburg To Hollywood'. The Beatles promised him the chance to take photos of them but when he arrived George was the only one awake. That's why ...

BrianK, if you can do something better 'bring it on'. I'm always happy to learn new info on Beatlesgear and it sounds like you've got a lot of problems solved. Can you give us a sneak preview?

John and Kenny, I understand what you're saying. I may have been lucky as I was on the other side of the fence, being friends with Andy Babiuk(helping him out with his book). Nick was always running the book Beatlesgear down but went out of his way to get www.Beatlesgear.com I met Nick one time and ...

Yes, Carl Wilson got that guitar from B Sharp Music in Minneapolis. He called it 'an English cutaway' Rickenbacker in a thank you letter he wrote to B Sharp back in 1965.
