Re: Chris Squires RM DC172

I was about to chime in and say go see the Sept. 1987 issue of Guitar World, which has interviews with Trevor Rabin, Chris and Mike Tobias. I THOUGHT the article had Mike talking about doing headstock repairs and a refin on the Ric about the time he did the 5 string for Chris. BUT...just scanned all...

Re: Newly stolen items *ALERT*

Glad to hear of some hope for you. I would REALLY press the police, many of the pawn shops likely have security videos, which might be mined to identify the perps!

Finally....Rock Hall of Fame!

Just saw they finally got their heads screwed on right an elected Yes to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Nice, but many years too late, and underscores a broken system.

I'm sure Chris is smiling up there!

Re: 1979 Fretless 4001 Repair

hard to judge from the pictures, but my guess is that beauty can be fixed right up! Aside from the neck bow, the rest of it is a walk in the park for most folks to sort.

Re: bass clip - To Be Over

Wow...as always! Look forward to hearing more about the bass when you have time. I have always loved that song, and didn't recall the bass being that involved. Thanks for reminding me!

Re: Ibanez Talman basses?

Just curious how the fit and finish is on the neck, in terms of the frets. Some lower end basses leave a little to be desired there, and you fell burrs and such. Many of our local shops have closed up and it is a hike to get to one of the chain stores.

Ibanez Talman basses?

I must admit I like the many color options they are offering, but haven't seen one in person. Have been watching E-bay, but used ones really haven't shown up yet.

So...anybody inspected and noodled on one? Thoughts?

Re: 4003s

Welcome to the fun, and I'm sure you'll get some answers soon. I would recommend playing one in person to be sure. More than likely you'll like it, but you might discover minor things that can guide you in your selection. Some folks don't like the binding on the deluxe models as it can be uncomforta...

Jim - great of you to share those memories, special indeed. I think we are all still have a hard time at various levels. I won't have the chance to see them this summer, but if closer I would probably go. I'm sure the band has emotions all over the place every night!
