I have a couple of basses with the old style rods and find they’re incredibly stable . I’ve only had to adjust my 4001 twice . The first time was about twenty five years ago , the second was last year .
I like them !

The skunk stripe has returned , and I’ve heard that basses will now be built with a single truss rod . Will you still be able to easily remove the truss rod with the new design ? Where was this info posted? I first saw it on the Rickenbacker (official) Facebook page . It was the thread where they f...

I have a set neck 4000 . Happened right after I bought Paul’s book .

I guess they feel Facebook is all the internet presence needed today .

I suppose the other question is why haven’t the other manufacturers adopted the easy to replace truss rod system …

I asked at Rickenbacker’s official Facebook page , but haven’t seen any response and their website seems abandoned . Perhaps with all of the recent changes they might update the site .

It was fifteen last March , I had been looking for a 4001 for some years . Not many came up for sale here in Nova Scotia but I finally managed to find the one . I still have it !

I once missed an opportunity to pick one up for a very reasonable price , and passed thinking my 4001 was all the Ric I'd need .
I regret that now ...
