Re: Swollen Pickle on a Rick
A negative of Germanium transistors is that -in general- they are sensitive to temperature, which means your fuzz will sound different on a cold day compared to a hot one.

Re: Swollen Pickle on a Rick
Let us know what you think about the new pedal. I'm curious why you returned the Pickle--although I suspect I may know why. It's definitely not a Muff clone, and if you had an MKII and didn't adjust the internal pots to suit bass, that couldn't have helped either. It's 100% a muff clone... Btw. Wel...

Re: Swollen Pickle on a Rick
Thanks for the reply Josh, I wonder how the Tone compares to the B:Assmaster (geranium)? Can't seem to find one around here may have to go to ebay. Think I'll just cough up the $ on a Pickle in the meantime, store in the hood has a 30 day return policy. I've played both (though not with Rics). The ...

Re: Sooo... if you were me.
I think iconic is the word. The 4004 looks a bit like dessert, I think the 4003 might be my main coursepag wrote:Ive seen some really great looking 4003 basses recently.
I think the change back to the iconic striped headstock makes the choice obvious....a new 4003 FG or MG!

Re: Sooo... if you were me.
#1. the 4004's are great, and and can be modded to have a more bright, (single coil) sound at your disposal with coil taps. And now the new ones have the same neck profile as new 4003's,so it really just depends on how much you like the classic features versus the sleeker look. As my buy date approa...

Re: Sooo... if you were me.
That sure is a killer, but that has the older ONE piece necks and has the VVT mod. The stock version is just a simple VOLUME/TONE with a pickup selector switch. This one is modded to have a stackable volume/tone switch for each pickup. If you like a flat, wide neck, this would be great. The new 400...

Re: Sooo... if you were me.
The 4004 is something I've struggled with aesthetically... sometimes it catches my eye and sometimes it doesn't. Sonic-ly I've not had the chance to try one... how does it compare to the current 4003 (which I have tried). Think of the 4004cii as a Pbass on steroids, with a little CLASSIC RIC tone t...

Sooo... if you were me.
I'm biding my time and saving a bit of money to dive into the Ric pool. Forums and the internet being what they are I've managed to tangle my mind a little. My initial intent was to get a new 4003. but... Searching around here I found information about the 3000 and 2000 series which caught me eye. I...
