Re: MC5
Great band! Pure, unrefined R&R.

Cool! I'd love to hear Neil rip some of his signature licks on that baby.

Re: What drew you to Rickenbacker?
Watching Pete Townsend bashing away on a Ric on the BBC did it for me!

Re: Best Fuzz for a Rickenbacker
So many good ones, although I haven't tried many with my Ric yet. Just in terms of grabbing that '60s psych/garage sound (which is what I'm all about!), you may want to check these out: 1) Analogman Peppermint Fuzz 2) Ashbass Fuzzbrite (Mosrite Fuzzrite clone) 3) Maestro Fuzz Also check out some of ...

The one band from that movement that really did it for me was Screaming Trees, especially their LP Sweet Oblivion. Mark Lanegan is beyond talented. Even his solo works are really.

Ric-O-Sound - Working?
I'm new to all things Rickenbacker and just acquired my first, a 1967 JG 365/6. I apologize in advance for what might be a stupid question. The guitar plays fine when using the standard output. However, when I plug a standard cable into the ROS output, nothing happens. Similarly, when I run a standa...

Re: What are Rickenbacker for?
I've only been the proud owner of a 365/6 for a few weeks now, but I'm using her for just about everything I play. We are primarily a '60s act, doing Zombies, Byrds, early R&B; but also some Cream and more garage-based material. Works well with it all - even with my fuzzes and wah.

Re: Offset bridge question, Fender Jazzmaster CP MIM
Have you tried the Mastery bridge? It is made for Jaguars and Jazzmasters, and is designed to give them a little bit more sustain and depth than the standard bridge, without losing too much of the unique character which makes them what they are. They are pretty popular with the people over on the O...

Thanks John, appreciate the info.sloop_john_b wrote:Talk to Mark Walker; he's a member of this forum. He's a bass guy but he knows his way around the old-style truss rods and that's the tricky part.
I also like Matt at 30th Street Guitars.

Rickenbacker Set-Up Tech NY Metro Area
Hi,
Just acquired my first, a '67 365 JG and would like to get her professionally set-up.
Would appreciate any recommendations for a Ric tech in the NY Metro area, preferably Westchester County.
Thanks!
Frank

On the vintage strats, Fiesta Red ends up fading out to a pinkish color like that.
