Re: Didja all see the news?
Just put my deposit down for a 4003W through Pick of the Ricks. I just couldn't resist, I haven't broken the news to the wife yet, but first things first.

Re: NAMM 2014
Did anyone attend NAMM 2014 and actually play the 4003W that was on display. I know if I would have gone, I would have plugged it in and ran a few scales on it to see how it played, sounded, etc. Anyone out there who did that and can provide commentary, it would be greatly appreciated.

Who or what forum do you recommend I use to find a good Rick tech in the Wisconsin area?

Truss Rod Adjustment for Flat Fingerboard
I am fine tuning my 4001V63 with DI Hi-Beam Strings 105 - 45 to get a flat fingerboard. I make small turns to the truss rod nuts, clockwise to remove the small amount of front bow. I turn the nut 1/8" - 1/4" clockwise, let it sit for 24 hours and then make another small change. It seems to...

Re: Hope to talk with Chris Squire . . .
I don't want to steal Paul Boyer's thunder, but I wanted to get these photos I took of Paul with Chris and Jon and Chris with Paul after the 8-8-2013 show at Milwaukee State Fair Park. Paul presented Chris with a copy of his book and Chris was very interested in it spending at least 30 minutes going...

Re: YES Spring 2013 Tour
Thought Squire fans would get a kick out of a picture taken by Paul Boyer of Chris Squire and myself after the August 8th, 2013 show at State Fair Park in Milwaukee, WI. Paul gave Chris a copy of his book and spent quite some time going through it. Before we left the trailer, Paul took this photo of...

4001V63 Beatle bass or Chris Squire Bass?
Went on You Tube the other day and all the video's of people playing 4001 V63's were of Beatle songs. Then you look at the video's of a 4003 and they are all Rush or Yes songs. Can someone explain? Also can I get my 4001V63 to sound like this: [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0e0mBwBrRc&...

Re: 4001V63 2002 Turquoise Dead E-String
The original E was pretty bassey when I played it prior to purchase, i believe it was probably somewhat dead as well. Do you know what you Petersland did to get it even across all of the strings. That would be awesome and solve my problem. I don't think I am asking too much? Am I?

4001V63 2002 Turquoise Dead E-String
I bought this bass at the Milwaukee Confluence, in fact it is the bass on pages 82-83 if Paul Boyer's book. Tonight I put on a set of Rotosound Round Wounds, and the G, D, and A strings sound awesome, but the E-String is dead. I could barely get a harmonic on the fifth fret. I am using RS 66LD's 45,...

Re: MILWAUKEE CONFLUENCE 2013
Thanks to Amy from Clatter and the serendipidous sequence of events that led me to the Milwaukee Confluence on Sunday @ 10:00am and the patience shown by Paul Boyer as I sat in front of him for 2 hours playing basses, which was truly a pleasure, trying to decide between one of three that I liked. Ul...
