Re: Model Numbers on TRCs

Well here's my 1979 360-12, and there's no model designation on the TRC: http://thegenerationofmusic.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/ric2.jpg However, here is someone else's 1979 360-12, and they have it: http://www.rickresource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=406424&start=0 http://ia600701.us.arc...

Re: Roller bridge ?

If you want to hold out a bit, I just read that the Mastery Bridge guys just tooled up for a Rickenbacker version of their Mastery Bridge. That should be cool!

I read about it over at TGP:

Those previous covers are excellent! I love the Beatles nod for Vol 2, and Vol 3 reminds me of this (I love the Pixies!)

Re: The Suzi Arden Show

Well at least while it was owned by a Japanese collector, this guitar was captured in photos for a book - so the memories are well captured for posterity:

http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/2008/Nov/Collectors_vs_Musicians.aspx I think for the sake of making this Ric "studio-ready," a line was crossed when considering what a "collector purist" would do versus what a musician would do. Gruhn makes a good point that musician...

Re: So, may we introduce to you...TheBeatlesGear.com

oh my gosh, the nut was replaced. how bad was the original nut messed up before you replaced it? i understand replacing it if what was on there was not the original nut anyhow, but if it was the original nut but just hacked up a bit, if even not totally smoothly playable, i wouldn't have replaced it...

Re: What drew you to Rickenbacker?

It was Peter Buck. I had just started learning to play guitar, been playing about two weeks and I went to see him at Kings Cross in January 2006 when he was on an early tour with Robyn Hitchcock. I was standing almost in front of him and was craning my neck to see what he was playing, knowing nothi...

This thread is relevant to my needs. Just picked up a Ric and would love to pair it with something like the janglebox! I can wait a month or so for this noise-free version that's coming up?

Re: Richard Smith

I just picked up a copy of this book to bring me up to speed on my Ric and the history before it and a little after it - since mine's from '79 i guess that puts me in the sweet spot of the book. I also picked up Bacon's 12 string Ric book, why not. Here's to some nice reading and a little reference ...
