Re: Vintage Tweed Deluxe
Update. I got the leaky power caps replaced, death cap removed and installed a grounded cord.
Next I am saving up for all NOS tubes. But right now this thing ROCKS.
Think ZZ Top first three albums or Mountain/Leslie West.
I'm havin' a lot of fun!!!

Re: 2007 6118 LTV
Yes the Bigsby is factory, Evan. Many people confuse the 6118-T with the 6118-LTV. The 6118-T is the standard model with the optional Bigsby. It has chrome hardware, polli finish, standard pickups, no tressel bracing. I believe it is still in production. Made in Korea. Much more common. Still a very...

Re: Vintage Tweed Deluxe
No, I don't limit myself to Valco. Gotta spread the love.... The tubes are not original. The speaker is an old Utah, not original. At the moment, I don't have a gut shot, but it is un-tampered with. It has all good yellow tone caps. It does need the large power caps replaced and the 'death cap' remo...

Vintage Tweed Deluxe
Here is a 1960 Fender Tweed Deluxe that I recently purchased from my best guitar buddy. He wanted to sell to get a new Telecaster. I couldn't let him trade it in to the music store ! It was autographed by Merle Haggard and his band at a gig in 2010. That is a plus or minus, depending who you ask. I ...

2007 6118 LTV
P1010132.JPG I haven't posted here in a while so I thought I would just jump in with both feet ! This model, the LTV, is actually quite rare. Laq. finish, nickle plated metal parts, the TV Jones pu's, Smoke Green To-tone. It can twang like a Tele or roar like a Dot Neck 335. The fit and finish is f...

Tone 360/12 vs. 660/12 ???
Difficult to describe tone in words but I know you fellow Ric freaks can do it. I'm thinking of replacing my 360/12 mapleglow [2001 with highgains] with a 660/12 [toasters of course]. I haven't ever played a 660 but like the look and find the wider nut interesting. Nothing wrong with a 360 for sure ...

Re: Fender Tube Reverb
Just a quick update, the Tube Reverb is a very cool unit. Very 'old school' but that's part of the appeal. I'm rockin' the oldies. Later, Kats.

Re: Jefferson Airplane Question
Good 'eye' kirk. Probably one of the players from the very good stage orchestra. I read they are all Pittsburg area musicians.

Used Gretsches Spotted
No affilliation with Dave's Guitars in Lacrosse Wis. I just was cruising the web site and spotted 14 used Gretsches at Dave's. Wow !
They include a 12 string and 3 B. Setzer's. A couple of Ric's too including a 370-6 JG

Luv my Tele and my Esquire. Maximun chicken scratch-Make it in to an Esquire. One '51 Nocaster bridge or one S.Duncan Antiquity bridge around $85 and a $20 pickguard. There is just somethig about an Esquire.

Re: Setzer Gretsch models
Boy the Gretsch line up is hard to figure out from top to bottom, isn't it ? Two things, wow that County Club is sweet, and did our original poster wanted a tone knob insted of a switch ?
