jps wrote:Great jobs, guys (even though you forgot about the headstock binding  )! I see you have flats on it, cool choice for the 4002BD. The inlays pop nicely on the ebony fingerboard.

Thank you Jeff!!! :D It's actually just got the standard RIC round wounds on it, I cant stand flats!

Re: Something very special is making its way through the fac

Absolutely lovely Brendan! :D However, you missed the binding on the headstock... Was the 4002 TRC something that was printed fresh for your instrument, or is it actually leftover 4002 stock? Also, and I am sorry if I missed this earlier in the thread, but how is the on-board distortion activated? ...

Re: Something very special is making its way through the fac

Here you go everyone, here is the finished product!! I'm beyond pleased with how this came out and I couldn't put it down when I got home! As good as it looks it sounds even better! There is a lot of low end and mids that you can get from it along with some strong punchy treble tone, definitely a ve...

Re: Something very special is making its way through the fac

It's getting the final touches right now!!! Hardware and everything else is being put on as we speak. The black hardware really makes a huge difference in the look and the ebony fingerboard has a very nice shine now that it has been buffed. Ive included a picture of the battery mounted inside the ca...

Re: Something very special is making its way through the fac

Back from vacation and I'm very happy to say there has been more progress on my bass. The binding has been scraped and the final coats have been applied. Tomorrow it will get the final sands done to it, get fret leveled and go through buffing. Once it has been buffed the hardware will be put on and ...

Re: Something very special is making its way through the fac

It was able to get resprayed today and I couldn't be happier with how it came out, a wonderful off white color. My phone camera is garbage but you can at least get an idea of the color from the pictures. Tomorrow we should see how the binding contrasts with the body color and it should start getting...

Re: Something very special is making its way through the fac

But....doesn't White ultimately fade into a "Banana Cream" color anyway??? I had a White Precision that did that, AND, I've seen White 4001's do the same..... This was waaaaaaay past a normal yellowing and once the final coat would have been applied it would have gotten darker. It was a n...

Re: Something very special is making its way through the fac

Hey everyone, Definitely enjoying reading the feedback and glad to see everyone is still interested in seeing how this comes out. After the bass was painted I went home and thought about the color and came to the conclusion that I wasn't happy with the almost banana cream color that it came out as. ...

Re: Something very special is making its way through the fac

Sorry for not posting any progress pictures last week everyone! The bass has been sprayed with the first sealer coats and finally has color! I wanted to go with an aged white on it and it has been sprayed with a really nice cream color. My phone takes horrible pictures and for some reason the bass l...

Re: Something very special is making its way through the fac

Electronics and wiring are admittedly not my strong point so Richard helped out alot with this next step. We used a 4003 wiring harness and replaced the push pull knob with the onboard distortion unit that im putting into this. We replaced the single mono jack for a single stereo jack, Reason for th...
