IIRC, there is a one-off guitar that has an ebony fretboard, early 2000s.

Belated RIP for Cellist Gerri-Michele Sutyak (Smithereens Blue Period)

I was wanting to hear the Smithereens' Blue Period a couple of weeks ago, and the YouTube video I accessed had in its comments the news that the cellist who played on the song (and appeared in the video), Gerri-Michele Sutyak, passed away on June 28, 2020 at age 55. https://www.herbwalker.com/obitua...

Re: 362/12 Double neck- Wiring Diagrams?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I would think that the wiring would be the same as for a 4080 (two pickups x 2, 5 control pots, 1 three-way switch, 1 two-way switch). I made a CRUDE drawing for someone a while ago of the wiring on my 4080: 4080Schematic1.jpg Here are some pictures from the back of the...

Re: Cleaning tuners - 1977 4001

My Epiphone JL Revolution Casino has nickel-plated hardware, and I have used Maas metal polish to bring the shine back. Of course, it's not permanent, as the sulfur-containing compounds that are exuded in sweat react with nickel and dull it back up.

Re: What is this? Actual Ric?

Wait, mind blown, I thought they all had two! Honestly I never looked under the cover of the Es 16 I briefly had either, is the single rod true for all their short scales? [tried to post last night but it didn't work ... ] It might be that only the v-series have the single truss rods. I foun...

Re: New (to me) Ric Day

... I’m curious though, if it’s possible that the pickups are out of phase. In the middle position, there’s a definite comb filter happening, really thin sounding, but it regains some “meat” if I back either of the volumes back a hair. Either pickup onnits own is fine. ... That sounds like they are...

Do the dot fret markers look small compared to the 325v59's?

Re: a couple questions about rickenbacker capri history/construction details

... you say phenolic, others say bakelite ... Bakelite is a phenolic polymer (phenol-formaldehyde resin. Delrin, on the other hand, is a polyacetal polymer. As Collin said, phenolics are a bit brittle compared to Delrin; one can find gears made of Delrin, but not of phenolic. IIRC from my plastics ...

Re: 389L Piezo troubleshooting

I never had my former 380L apart enough to know, or to have pictures of the saddles.

FWIW, it also had a phasing issue, as I could never get a strong output/full sound when I tried to blend the piezo with the other pickups.
