Pick Up Foam Pad Stains.
I did a little searching but haven't found anything on a way to remove the stains left behind by the foam pads. Is there such a procedure without a total refin? If not, my thought was to carefully and selectively remove the stained finish then reapply/touch up the area with nitrocellulose (the finis...

Re: Photographs of the 480 Series
Indeed, cool trio, Chip! Which one is the fav, the go to? Werner, I love all three so I tend to rotate them when I play. However, I do tend to use the FG a little more because of the Bigsby. I put a Winfield Vintage roller bridge on it (made with the flatter radius of the neck) and it stays in tune...

Three Little Rics - Straw, Sticks, and Bricks. Now if I only had a 4000 series bass to play the part of the Big Bad Wolf.

Plus there is just generally shady practices. Like this past month, he bought a (rare) 1970 Mapleglo 330/12 and parted it out... he had most of the parts, tuners, TRC and even body listed as 1966 parts to get a higher price. The only part he held back on listing (until AFTER the body sold) was the ...

Re: Anyone have a toaster and HB1 in the same guitar?
Yes, I have tried that! I personally preferred the HB1 in the neck and the toaster at the bridge because it gave a real Grestchy kind of tone, to my ears. ...... I used a 12k toaster, but I don't recall their being a big discrepancy in output between the pickups. This is actually how I have my 480'...

I've always just carefully put a toaster cover over a Ric HB. I have them on my 480's and did it on a 620.

..However in the 1980's I played the heck out of it, using Super slinkys, and It was always "fussy" with tuning, but still plays beautifully!, (the bridge actually "rocks" back and fourth on the 4 hieght adjustment screws when using Bigsby!). As I mentioned in my earlier post, t...

Frankly, I think a Bigsby is quite nice on a Ric!

Re: Rickenbacker and bigsby
It's been a while since I 1st was looking into this. I'm thinking of putting a B5 on a 330 again and I guess I forgot to ask, does a B5 work well with a Rickenbacker. I thought I read somewhere that there were problems with doing this. I'm now not so concerned about drilling to put one on and I'm j...

Re: Sweet Score / Need Ideas: '68 Rick 450 for $450
Is that paint on the outside of the truss rod cover? It may be original so if it is I'd try to figure out how to clean off the paint to expose the Ric logo, and try the same with the pick guard cover (though you can get a repro for that). As for the trash stamp on the back, again, see if you can fin...

Ric HB in the neck with a toaster cover on it.
Vintage black w/ white line hex knobs.
Here's the hard part:

BE KIND, DON'T UNWIND! Save that 12K and get an actual 7.4k.

Re: The Most Useless Gadget Ever
Though I've seen a few left hand players that play a right handed guitar strung right handed, at 0:36 in the video someone is instructing someone else "upside down". One of these rare cases or a total boo-boo by the director of the video?
