I like the indicators to point towards me when they are full on. That way I can see them easier, especially whenever I'm playing on a dark stage.
The neck pickup volume control is backed off a bit and the rest are full on in the photo.

I doubt the neck of a satin finish Rickenbacker would be less stable than if it had a glo finish. Besides the string I mentioned in my previous post, I did have a set of La Bella Low Tension Flats on my 4001S when I was in a British Invasion tribute band. Nothing better than those for old school thump. I wouldn't say the tension was all that low. Just a little less tension than most sets of flat...
