Re: Fall 2021: Best place to order a new Rick. . .
I used Pick Of The Ricks, but as stated above, they are no longer in the guitar selling business. So... One time Pick Of The Ricks did not have in stock what I was looking for (a Miami 325), so I (don't throw tomatoes at me) went to one of the two big internet musical gear sellers (Sweetwater). The ...

Re: TRC Logo Touch Up
Uhh, scroll a few posts up and take a look at the TRC I made myself. Does it look like I deal in disaster?jdogric12 wrote:Sorry, but the roller idea sounds like a guaranteed disaster. Is that a serious suggestion?

Re: TRC Logo Touch Up
If you really want to make perfect a 33 year old guitar that should show signs of wear, there really is no problem in fixing that TRC. It's an easy fix. The raised letters make it so. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/proxy/FoZ_IYoP6Wfw_wdpFKGngZnBVSVZ0vFYs3jznGL1KHQbqXTRossNnMGctadG5UK2AlKgP5eyLDcE...

Try finding music or videos or articles about The Church.doctorwho wrote: Sort of like having a band named "To Be Announced" .... nobody could ever find you!

Re: “Who the F... is Roger Rossmeisl?”
I would have thought RR designed the 381 as well. He didn't? Had to pull out some of my Ric books. It appears the German carve on Rickenbackers was from Roger's father - Wenzel. But, yeah, the rest of the bells and whistles on a 381 were Roger's design. However, let's be honest, it is the German ca...

Re: “Who the F... is Roger Rossmeisl?”
A documentary on Roger Rossmeisl? Forget him. How about giving us a ten episode series about the guy who designed the 381v69. Some unknown name responsible for an exquisite work of art. He's (or she's) the person who should have a documentary film in their honor. https://www.soundaffects.com/images/...

Re: If Rickenbacker Didn't Exist
OP, why do you waste your time and ours with "what if" scenarios? So you feel "what if" scenarios are a waste of time. Just imagine if these folks thought like you about what if scenarios: - Imagine if Cleisthenes never said, "What if we allow the citizens to vote." - ...

Re: Ric 330, Vox AC30, and TS808
It's great to hear there are other Mitch Easter/Let's Active fans out there! Influential guy and band. I wasn't a huge fan of the band, but I did buy some records of theirs and did see them live. Big influence on me was Mitch's blue 330. I had to have a 330 and it had to be blue: https://i.postimg....

Re: Some Guidance on Getting a New 360/12?
Did you play around with adjusting the poles on the hi-gains when you had them? B and E string always seem to ring out louder on Rics. Nature of the beast. You can tame them by lowering polepieces. Being able to raise or lower polepieces is a relatively new thing for Rics. Could not do that until r...

Re: If Rickenbacker Didn't Exist
As far as the DC5's movie, Catch Us If You Can/ aka Having a Wild Weekend, it's actually very good. The directorial debut of John Boorman and was done in an arty B&W style. Obviously not as big as AHDN but worth a look. I can't call it "good." Rather it is pretty darned interesting. P...

If Rickenbacker Didn't Exist
Alternative universe question. If Rickenbacker guitars did not exist: 1) would The Beatles have been as big as they were (remember, George's 12 string was instrumental (see what I did there) to the big breakout for the band, the HARD DAY'S NIGHT film). 2) would you have found/bought other guitars th...

Re: Welsh guitarist Chris Buck with a key question
Yes, when I come across his videos I watch them and enjoy them. He's good, his opinions are his own and not stated to try to win over friends. He recently did a video stating that the SG is merely a stepping stone guitar for those who want a Les Paul. Well, that video didn't go over well with the fo...

Re: Rick Wait Time
Six months? I'd say that sounds like an estimate to be on the safe side. Could be six months, but my bet is it will be shorter. Ric wait times are like Gibson quality control problems -- overexaggerrated internet talk. Maybe at one time new Rics would take up to a year to reach a buyer, but it seems...

Re: 620/12 what kind of strings need to use and some other q
One of my all-time favorite electric 12 string records, XTC's 'English Settlement,' was recorded on an mid-70s Rick with hi-gain pickups. It's hard to imagine Rick 12 string goodness sounding much better than that. Yes, and that's the point. Is there really a notable difference between the two pick...

...sorry if I ask one more time..but do you think that Hi Gain pick-ups are not so good as the "toaster"?...Actual toaster sounds like the old ones or are there any differences..what do you advise?..thank you... Like most folks here I have Rics with Hi Gains and Toasters. Minimal differen...
