360/12 V64 versus 360/12 C63, which do you prefer?
Having owned both at one time or other, I've stuck with the V64. I prefer the ambered look of my recently acquired V64.....has a nice ruby-red border and nicely ambered center. It could be my imagination, but the headstock of the V64 seems thinner from front to back, and even the body seems thinner ...

Re: Guitar Brood...updated
The Elitist Casino, in my opinion, is one of the best values in a quality, semi-hollow electric. I removed the original tailpiece and installed the Bigsby myself. I also replaced the original Tune-o-matic bridge with a roller-bridge, which greatly improves the function of the Bigsby (tuning much mor...

381/12 V69 NOS find !!!
I recently won an eBay auction for a model year 1996 RIC 381/12 V69. The original owner never played this instrument...just kept it in a display case. So, it's basically a "New Old Stock" guitar that's in mint, pristine condition. I was particularly intrigued by the unique pattern of the w...

Re: 360/12v64
I've previously owned, then sold, a V64/12 and C63/12 (both fireglo). I sold a 1996 model year V64 to help pay for a new, 2009 model year C63. My favorite by far was the V64. I like the pointier horns on the V64. The V64 was lighter in weight, had a beautifully ambered fireglo finish, and was easier...

Re: Guitar Brood...updated
Yes, the Strat in the photo has one of the most amazing necks. It's a "soft- V" with the most incredible rolled neck edges. Everyone that plays it falls in love.

Re: Strings: 10s v. 11s
I prefer the Rickenbacker compressed wound set of 10's on my 6-string RICS with a wound .018 G string. The wound G-string intonates better, probably because it's larger in diameter than the 17-plain, and therefore, does not fret sharp since it stretches less (stiffer) when fretting. My choice for a ...

Re: Best COY
My favorite COY is Montezuma Brown. I finally bought one recently on eBay, a 2004, 360 six string. It will arrive today. It's interesting that the depth of the brown and the transition of the burst varies from guitar to guitar. Some guitars have a darker brown on the edges and some are lighter. I pr...

Re: Pyramid Strings
When I changed from RIC compressed round wounds to TI flats on my RIC 12's, I did not have to do a truss rod adjustment. Funny thing is that the intonation improved, especially on the lowest E string (12th string)! So it's TI's all the way.

Re: Pyramid Strings
I'll put my vote in for the TI flats for RIC 12's. Some think the Pyramids have too stiff a feel...I've never tried them on my 12er's. I'll tell you what....those TI's sure make my 370/12 RM and 360/12 C63 chime clear and bright!!! They're expensive but worth every penny. They last a long time and p...

Re: Suitable compression for my Ricks?
Regarding the Farndurk- Burgs Compressor: Has any forumite ordered and received their pedal from this company? If so, how long was the turnaround time from the placement of the order until the shipment? When I emailed them regarding my pedal, all I got was a sarcastic response that I should be more ...

Unique neck on 370/12 RM???
Just wondering if this guitar has a neck that's unique to this particular model. The neck seems to have a very comfortable feel, noticibly different than other 360 or 370 RIC 12's that I have played. I've not been able to find detailed specs on the RM neck. Does anyone on this forum have any knowled...

Re: 360/12v64
I previously owned a Turquoise 360/12 V64 for only a short period of time because I was very disappointed with the actual color. In reality, the color is definitely more greenish than bluish. A photo of this color always appears "bluer" on most computer monitors. So beware when viewing ima...

Re: High gain (11k) toasters vs. 7.4k toasters
Just some observations: I recently installed some 11K toasters on my 2008 620 6-string...nice clean jangle, but also great when overdriven. The 11K toasters definitely have a brighter and more well-defined tone when compressed as compared to the original, adjustable-pole high gains. My 370/12 RM (wi...
