RARE Rickenbacker color / finish ?'s on a 320

Post by anon »

I posted this over in the 325 forum as well but I though it might do better here...
I just bought an 81 Rick 320 in a Burgandyglo...
How do you find out how many were made or how rare that is??? I once had an Azureglo one, so I know a few other colors were made, but
most Rick 320 style guitars I've seen are in Fireglo, Mapleglo, or Jetglo, so Im wondering if people look for the rarer colors or just try to find one in Black like Lennon had and if demand for these other colors is low???
When did Rickenbacker change their finishing process??? the guitar I have has lots of finish weather checking, I would assume that its a laquer finish??? the finish doesnt appear to be as thick as later Rick guitar finishes...
Im trying to deside if I want to hold on to it or not, and if I'm going to have trouble selling it, If I do deside to sell it....Its a tough choice to make...
thanks... fatrat

I'd hold on to that one.
