Another 360/12C63 on the way

Post by drewm »

Almost 2 years to the day after putting down my deposit, I got the e-mail last Friday from Gary at NCM that my guitar was in...it had been several months since I had heard anything, so I had actually forgotten about it. But the DHL website tells me that I should be receiving it tomorrow...really looking forward to this...

It will complement my 660/12 very, very well. Next stop...a 4001C64?

Stuart, I posted some on the "My 12/C63 is in!!!!" thread on Thursday. They're digital and I took them in a hurry, so the red is much deeper and darker than it really is. Going to try to take pictures with more natural light this weekend.

But man, she is a beaut!

thanks for the welcome, guys. unfortunately, it may be a bit longer than 6 months. the wait might go into early 2008. but, as you guys said, it's worth the wait. i've picked 2 different c63s up before, and they were awesome.

Adam, I ordered mine in March 2005 and received it this past April -- 25 months. I know I got frustrated with all the people that told me, "It'll be worth the wait." As the saying goes, if I had a nickel for every time I read that -- well, it's enough to say that "they" were right. It's a beautiful instrument, and after you get it, you'll forget all about the wait.

Anyway, it SEEMS as if the RIC folks are making good progress on the backorders. I still reflexively check the "Shipped" pages on the RIC site (old habit, I guess), and I see a good number of C63s getting shipped out. Keep the faith...

thanks very much. And I know what it's like to wait for something. The Beatles had the same problems. They couldn't find any good guitars at all in the early days.

On the RIC corporate web site, select from the "Models" tab whichever model you're interested in. For instance, selecting the "C" Series, then 360/12C63 page, brings you here:

http://www.rickenbacker.com/model.asp?model=360/12C63

Then click on the text that says "Click here to see which dealers/distributors have recently been shipped this model." Voila.

I see that on the NCM site that Gary received another 360/12C63 on June 6. That moves me up another notch!
