The elusive Harngelb yellow???
I just picked up this 330......10/84 build date. I thought it was white but it is amazingly
uniform in color....even under the pick guard ( although a bit darker under there ). You
don't suppose it's hargelb yellow, do you??

Re: The elusive Harngelb yellow???
Craig, my own impression of Harngelb, from descriptions I've read, is something like this:
Just an impression, however. Yours seems too subtle...

Re: The elusive Harngelb yellow???
Yeah, I think yours may be simply mellowed slighty-yellowed (hey, that rhymed--dig it, Donovan!) white.
Funny that it would somewhat yellow under the pickguard.
From what I understand, the Ric white color was never super crisp "Olympic" white. White has huge spectrum of shades, too.

Paul.....thanks for that color sample......it's pretty close to what's
under the pickguard and TRC. I'll try to get a good shot of it.

Looks kinda close, no?
This guitar is definitely a yellow guitar and not an aged white one. How
does one tell if it's a refin?

Re: The elusive Harngelb yellow???
The spacer appears to be painted that yellow color too... I guess refin, not harngelb. Sorry Craig!
Re: The elusive Harngelb yellow???
Hey....it's still a pretty cool guitar......Rics look nice in yellow!!
Re: The elusive Harngelb yellow???

wow----I was way wrong, that is most definitley yellow!
Most yellowed whites look the other way around with the TRC off.

Re: The elusive Harngelb yellow???
I disagree, this is an aged white guitar. I've seen several examples that yellowed more underneath the pickguard/TRC.
Harngelb was, as I recall, limited to 650's and the run was somewhat recent.

Not only that, but it must be magnetic or anti gravity or something.jingle_jangle wrote:Mossholder...that hurts my eyes!!!

How about that elusive painted spacer?
