Strymon Flint with a 1997 RM or 360v64

Post by Tdisewingmachine »

Anyone have any comments on the Strymon Flint pedal. Term and verb combined. Wondering if the trem pulses in stereo left and right channels independently. More importantly, how does the Ric sound?

I have a Flint. Fantastic sounding pedal. :D

The tremolo is mono, just the reverbs are stereo. The input jack is a TRS one and there is a jumper inside the unit to change it from mono in to stereo in which then provides for stereo throughput from stereo pedals in front of the Flint, or more importantly, for those with ROS equipped Ricks you can send your instrument through the Flint and then use the L and R outs of the pedal to send each pickup to a different amp, for example.

Thanks ....
So install the jumper inside the Flint and TRS cable for the 360v64. Of course, L and R TR cables into each amp or amp channel. Major bummer no stereo pulses. That would sound lush.

It sounds very lush, even with no stereo tremolo. The V64 does not have ROS (just dual mono outs) but it could be rewired easily to have it.

The jumper is already inside the Flint, you just have to move it to the adjacent pin on the PC board.

You are correct. This whole time I thought that other jack was TRS. I will look into the TRS mod. Thanks

Hey Jeff, last night I was plugged into the jack farthest away from the tail thinking that it would be the same as the jack closest to the tail. I was NOT able to get any volume from the the neck PU. Fumbled a bit and looked at the jack and noticed that it said ROS. Plug into the mono jack and both PUs worked. Ric print says both are mono ? Me thinks that it is in fact ROS (provision for TRS)

Comments?

Wired for ROS or stereo. So did they do ROS as well as 2X mono ?
