I recently acquired a 330 walnut, they're great indeed.
Compared to my 360V64 it is much more resonant, lighter and has a more woodier tone to it.
Still it jangles like you'd expect and it sustains very well.
The new high gains are excellent, the adjustable poles make it possible to balance the volume out per string.
The neck is thicker than an the V64 which is ok, string spacing is wider too.
It's great in other words.
minor flaw: nut depth was not cut correctly, brigde slots are weirdly cut.
I now understand why the Beatles took the finish off their guitars.

I find the resonance on my 330W and 1993 Plus to be very good.

The Hi Gains on the 330W also had strong output.

Not sure where the "cheapish" part comes in you refer to.

I am happy with both newish models.

I mean that like the Original Poster these are well discounted in some retail stores.

Apologies in the delay - our first child was born Thursday morning, so have been on ground crew duty. :D

Attached is a photo of the modifies headstock - I went with silver to pick out the logo, a la the 75th Anniv. Cherry model (one of which I see is on eBay for £2000ish, btw).

I have decided not to go with Toasters after all - after fiddling with my modified CS-3, I've got exactly the tone, attack and sustain I'm looking for. I have adjusted the pole-pieces on the HiGains to balance the output, and have spent a bit more time on the nut too, and she's now perfect. With the tone controls at full chat, I've got pure RM jangle and sparkle in spades, early-mid Beatles using the blender in the middle position, and a surprising range of shades available when the tone controls are backed down. In short, I'm a very happy bunny. :D :D :D

Without wishing to get into any arguments, I do not believe in tonewood in electric instruments, so we'll leave that there!

Looks lovely Burnt Weenie, the walnuts don't seem to sell well in the UK, I have seen many reduced

My Rick might need a set up soon, I also have other guitars that might need some love
I'm based in Bromley, is that something you'd do?

thanks

I have never been keen on the walnut finish, but I have to agree with other posters, your gold modifications completely change the aesthetics; it does look truly SUPERB........congratulations.....an excellent "upgrade".
only my opinion of course!
