Hot toasters swap to "scats" question

Post by donnellbw »

I have have a 1994 blond 12er with the hot toasters. If I swap those to 7.4K scatter wounds, do I have to do the "capacitor tone thing". What is that exactly, and what real difference does it make. I have a J box and am contemplating getting more BACK FROM RIO tone out of it. There is a certain droning tinkle that the 12Ks just don't do exactly.

Thank you and RIP Tom Petty.

Just put the scatterwound toasters in and you'll be good to go.

You won't get Back From Rio with a middle pickup. You need a 370RM!
