330/12 Jetglo "lacquer sinkage" finish issue
Hi,
Just wondered if anyone with a Jetglo Ricky has encountered a similar problem as the ebayer below. Apparently the guitar store diagnosed the blemishes on the neck as "Lacquer Sinkage". Is this a common problem?

That's a miracle because these guitars aren't finished with lacquer

It's even worse. Lacquer? According to the seller the finish is ink!collin wrote:That's a miracle because these guitars aren't finished with lacquer
I noticed the ink on the neck was a bit strange

Which is worse, sinkage or shrinkage?
I was in the pool!!!

Haha yes "Ink" did make me laugh , although I assumed (and hoped) it wouldn't be ink...
Anyway, would you guys advise on steering clear of this? I'm new to Rickenbackers so thought this was the best place to ask for advice! Cheers

There were a few JG's in the late 00's that had finish issues, but I can't really tell what I'm looking at in those pictures. Just looks like a dirty guitar. I'd be wary of that alone... seller can't even bother to clean up the guitar to photograph for sale? What else can't they do? Could be an indicator of other potential issues! Plenty of 330/12's on the ground... no need to snap any one right up.

That's great thanks. Think I'll give this one a miss!

In Europe lacquering is quite regularly used to refer to everything wood that has been painted, beit lacquer or not.collin wrote:That's a miracle because these guitars aren't finished with lacquer
