330 Set Tailpiece

Post by jakemackie »

Something I've noticed recently is that on some of Paul Wellers 330's he's had a set tailpiece installed. I was wondering if anyone had any more information regarding this sort of thing, and if it has any affect on the tone / sound of the guitar. Any information would be great, i might actually consider this sort of thing for my own.

Best,
Jake

I think that Jetglo 330 is the only one Paul installed a stoptail on, right? Not sure what that type came on, but a Gibson type stoptail would do the trick.

In theory, this would increase the sustain and also give you the ability to adjust the string tension (moving the break angle up or down), at least with a Gibson type threaded stoptail. Personally, I don’t see the point. Buy a Les Paul if that’s what you want.
