Roger McGuinn 370/12RM without E1?

This fellow says the guitars were made without the E1:

Is this correct? Did Rickenbacker ever make the 370/12RM without the Compressor/Treble Boost?

My uncle has one. I believe it is #16, and was the NAMM show guitar from the year they were unveiled. It does not have the onboard compressor.

My first one was A1 9796. This was the 11th built, in FG, and had no E1 option. Many of the earliest built did not.
